@NackHabitat No, it just means you've got more options for finish and physical properties in a successful print. Want a matte finish? Turn the temp down. Want a high strength print? Turn the temp up.
June 12th-14th is confirmed for this years #MRRF2026 festival! Apologies for the delay on dates but with Father’s Day weekend and other scheduling challenges this year it took a while to lock it in. Hopefully earlier brings cooler temps than years past too!
@ZombieHedgehog_ Prusa XL. A toolchanger had been on my wishlist for a while when it was announced, and I missed out on the E3D toolchange system, but I can wait until it doesn't cost me 6 months rent.
@ZombieHedgehog_ Layer heights, and extrusion width. I usually use a mix of 0.6,/.8/1.0mm nozzles. Nothing I print requires the detail of a 0.4mm nozzle, so I run up against the volumetric flow rate limit with larger CHT nozzles. Travel speed is irrelevant since even a 0.6 tops out around 80mm/s.
@Prusa3D Of course I dismissed the upgrade message right before exporting a sequential print 10 minutes before seeing this. Guess I've got an hour to download and slice the next one. Hope I can import my own extruder dimensions.
@ZombieHedgehog_ None. My MK3 is still all the tool I need, just like it has been for years. Slicer updates/gcode post-processing, minor upgrades, and improving my own design abilities makes it a better printer every year.
@ZombieHedgehog_ I don't even expect a printer to come with a complete BOM or functional firmware anymore. A full package is a first printer concern. After that, it's on the community to help one another with the rest.
@Johan50123 Design. Whether it's in my head, on paper, or CAD, iteration can go forward without commitment of time, space, funds, or skill investment. Over time new methods, off the shelf parts, or redundant parts become more apparent than on day 1. A backlog can be a blessing.
