It’s #FunSockFriday here on level four of the Reid building at @latrobe in Bundoora. I think next step is to get all of @MAPP_latrobe involved before we take it Uni wide for all the #SocksOfLaTrobe - what socks are you wearing today?
Catching up on some reading because that’s what Saturday nights are good for, lockdown or not…
Always a good read when it involves our @PetrovskiLab colleagues - congratulations!

My brother had a kidney transplant on Friday. Thank you to the donor and especially their family at this difficult time. Remember - have a discussion with your family to make your wishes known so we can save more lives and reduce the organ waiting list. https://t.co/0g55Unx5i6
Tomorrow I am back on campus at
@latrobe
- like many people, I’m going to miss my #PetsOfLaTrobe but I will take away some learnings from them. This is Ollie. He stays focussed on his goal and keeps trying, even though the mouse continually escapes him #BeLikeOllie#phdlife
@MattBrewerMicro@FranksMicrolab The hashtag is so well timed!
@Joshvido will be pleased to hear about the omission of that figure.
Did you talk about the fickle mistress that we refer to as R? We love you #CRAN and @rstudio
Congratulations to @MattBrewerMicro on this accomplishment. I know we have had our disagreements - but only about 'that' figure! It has been a pleasure to work with you as part of the @FranksMicrolab team and I hope you will be around #FourMoreYears if you so choose.
In 2015 I started a Bachelors degree at this campus without a clue on what a research article even was. Today, I submit a 20,000 word thesis in fulfilment of a Master of Science degree.
Thank you @latrobe for this phenomenal journey. I can't wait for my next adventure.
Such a great session. A special mention of @DrShaneRRR who, as best as I can tell, has spent a lot of COVID time helping scientists at various career stages. Tonight we are thinking about what we want to do when we grow up and what skills we already have to help us get there.
Just over 24 hrs until our epic @LIMSFellows Careers Workshop with FOUR exceptional speakers: @DrShaneRRR, @StephaniePayone, @tmurrayrust and Maggie Lieu!
There's not many (virtual) seats remaining so you better get in quick! #LFCareers2020

@DrShaneRRR Ollie asks how you are feeling - he’s helped my mental health so much. He pointed out that I didn’t reply the day you posted this so it should be okay to send a cat photo. It’s a good representation of how a low day might look. Thanks for sharing your lows as well as your highs.
The session with @DrShaneRRR doesn't start for over half an hour but I'm already looking like an excited gif.
I'll let you all decide which one would be most appropriate...
See you at 1pm!
@DrShaneRRR will be sharing his wealth of knowledge and expertise in research communication this Friday the 12th of June. Join us at 1pm through zoom to learn how to develop your research communication skills! @PAMpostgrads @LTUresearchers
Great to have the @PAM_latrobe seminar series back, kicking off with @latrobe’s own @sam_manna3 - it was such an interesting talk that Ollie, member of #petsoflatrobe and #ausunipetwars decided to watch.
Looking forward to the next seminar.
Great presentations @JW_ilikedirt and @gr_drummond - you even held the attention of Ollie, setting a new bar in #AusUniPetWars and #petsoflatrobe. We both got a lot out of the session and look forward to further learning opportunities from @PAMpostgrads and @LTUresearchers
Join us tomorrow the 15th of May at 1pm for our Literature review 101 session. We’re very lucky to have Dr Jen Wood and Prof. Grant Drummond passing on their expertise in this 1hr zoom workshop! #LTUWFH @PAMpostgrads @LTUresearchers
Smashing your thesis is on this Friday the 8th of May via zoom. Our guest speakers, recent PhD graduate Corinne Celestina along with lecturer and reviewer Jarrod Church bring two unique perspectives to help you get the most out of your writing! @PAMpostgrads @LTUresearchers
