Just working on my 3D skills.
Used to do alot of art stuff, majorly have slowed down due to life and its confusing points, but i make an effort sometimes.
@goofyahh41343 @Render96@xinus22 Not sure what the status of the assets and project really are (not active there in forever) not really looking to step on anyones toes, and beyond that, the original files are on a corrupted hdd partition, so even if I had permission to distribute, I don't have them anymore.
@RealMugg @LiamMoffitt I mean, I personally see an issue with attacking fans for being fans, fans that aren't even trying to compete with your product. Since 2018, I have pirated every nintendo game I have, and I really don't wanna see valve force my hand on that part as well.
@RealMugg @LiamMoffitt Yes, that's why I said there is more context to it.
Legal right and good will are two different things.
I really could not give a rats ass what Valve's legal right is, if they wanted to show any good-faith effort for the community, sending fans a DMCA isn't it.
@LiamMoffitt You can't half-ass something like this, and by virtue of alot of API function just not existing, it kinda is.
I should say, I really don't intend to be hostile here, and as I see the good in your viewpoint, I hope you see the concern in mine.
@LiamMoffitt Squirrel is a very archaic language as it is, and the API made for team fortress is very barebones.
You can get good results out of it, yes, but some things (like the open fortress dm project) is certianly biting off much, much more than it can chew when playing between them.
@LiamMoffitt It isn't simply a matter of DM vscript being in alpha, there are simply things that cannot be touched without proper source code access.
The implementation of vscript as a gamemode creation tool assumes that tf2 is a good base to work off of, but ofc, it isn't.
@UEAKCrash They "adapted" quick because valve allows any client that is signed with the correct version ID to attempt to join any server.
Most of the time that fails due to file differences, but since the 64 bit update was just a code refactor, you can, to this date, join on 32 bit clients
@LiamMoffitt and before i get the reply, yes, i know there was alot more context to everything there, but the point is: valve wants us to still pump out free content without handing us the reigns to see proper kickback. At this point, outside of the game itself, its a lose-lose for us.
@LiamMoffitt that's a fine idea.
tell that to tf:s2
valve has made it clear they want to sit on top of this IP, give minimal effort, and do nothing with it.
Open source TF2, kill the game for good, or fix the bots.
A middleground does not functionally exist here.
