@tokennorthsufc@ProjectFootball Saka shouldn’t have thrown his leg out, because of that it’s caused this discourse. It enabled the ref to make an incorrect decision imo.
When it comes to being compelled I just enjoy talking about football, sharing an opinion to gain others in return
@LowProfile2021@ProjectFootball Fair enough, I certainly don’t think there is any simulation that’s a stretch. I understand the argument for it not being a foul I just disagree. I believe Neuer is more in the wrong than Saka. Still not the worst decision of the game, Kane should of seen red
@MathewMumford@LowProfile2021@ProjectFootball I said that’s the reason it wasn’t given, which I think was an incorrect decision. Just because he looked for it doesn’t mean Neuer doesn’t commit a foul. We don’t agree and that’s fine
@MathewMumford@LowProfile2021@ProjectFootball I’m not trying to antagonise, it feels like a clear cut penalty to me. Saka sticking his leg out has cost him the decision no doubt, but it is still a foul by Neuer regardless so it should have been a pen. It should of been looked at more closely by VAR
@brookeyboo1874 @yes_griffin__ @ProjectFootball That’s just not how I see it. Neuer’s intentions actually is everything, he fails to get the ball because of Saka’s play. We clearly aren’t going to agree but either way it’s irrelevant as it wasn’t given and Arsenal have to show up at the Alliance
@MathewMumford@LowProfile2021@ProjectFootball I don’t agree with Saka sticking a leg out. My point is despite this he is still fouled. He did round the keeper & Neuer fouled him.
The state of the game is a joke, the laws should should be more clear cut & players should be punished for clear dives. This wasn’t one of them
@brookeyboo1874 @yes_griffin__ @ProjectFootball No not at that speed. My focus has been on Neuer not Saka. It’s Neuer’s positioning and failed swipe at the ball that makes it a penalty. The ref, like yourself, didn’t like Saka sticking his leg out so it wasn’t given. I still think it’s a foul therefore a penalty
@brookeyboo1874 @yes_griffin__ @ProjectFootball this feet leaves the floor point is redundant as you’re looking at it in slow motion, Saka is changing direction at high speed. I disagree that he dives into him, he sticks his leg out (which cost him the decision). Regardless of this it still a penalty because of Neuers actions
@brookeyboo1874 @yes_griffin__ @ProjectFootball Saka doesn’t need to attempt
to avoid him, he gets the ball round him and Neuer’s positioning means that he can’t continue his play. There is contact so it definitely isn’t a dive. There are reasons the ref hasn’t given it but it isn’t ridiculous to think this is a penalty
@tokennorthsufc@ProjectFootball I think the slow mo has aided this point. I’m not sure it was avoidable at that speed. Therefore he couldn’t shoot as he was impeded, hense Saka’s reaction at full time
@YankeeGunner It’s a tricky one, I think if Neuer is stood still the. you’d be correct. But as his leg is moving towards Saka, failed intention, it is a foul. Saka’s unnatural movement has cost him the decision
@brookeyboo1874 @ProjectFootball Saka’s movement whilst changing direction is an unnatural one for sure which makes it contentious. Neuer is coming towards him and makes contact that alone makes it a clear cut penalty for me
