Today marks 85 years since #Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass. Starting on the night of November 9, 1938, Nazi leaders initiated pogroms against Jews in Germany, which included the vandalism and destruction of thousands of Jewish-owned businesses, homes and synagogues.
Now more than ever, as we witness an extreme surge in hate and violence targeting the Jewish community, we must continue to educate about the atrocities of the Holocaust and stand up against #antisemitism.
We applaud the Ontario government's just-announced expansion of #Holocaust education in high schools and additional investments in resources and teacher training to support learning about the Holocaust and antisemitism in schools across the province.
Thank you to @fordnation and @Sflecce for their steadfast commitment to ensuring Canadian youth learn the history and lessons of the Holocaust and the message of #NeverAgain.
