A guy had some challenges at work. He called up his mother to tell her. That night, his father called him.
"Son, I understand you have a problem at work. Waudza mukadzi wako here?"
"Kwete baba."
"Why?"
"Handidi anetseke, vanhu vacho havatane stress."
"Saka wangu wamuudzirei?"
I have a friend of mine who is a Jehovah's Witness. A very upright guy. He gave me a laugh yesterday when he complained about how his girlfriend just shows up at his place uninvited.
I hold myself to a certain standard in moments of conflict, and I expect the same from anyone I share a relationship with. Disagreements are inevitable, but the way we speak to each other in those difficult moments reveals who we truly are. Even in anger, I believe in preserving dignity, composure, and respect. The goal should always be to address the issue at hand, not to wound the person we claim to care about.
When an argument slips into contempt, scolding, or emotional volatility, it stops being a conversation and becomes something corrosive. I will not remain in a relationship where conflict becomes an excuse for cruelty or a loss of self-control. That kind of dynamic undermines trust, safety, and connection.
For me, a healthy relationship is defined not by the absence of conflict, but by the grace and restraint we extend to each other when the stakes are high and emotions run deep.

If you get those annoying messages from girls who are constantly asking for favours. Open the message but don’t respond. Let them know you read it. But keep quiet 🤫. Eventually the tone will change as she gets annoyed. She will begin to get agitated and say things like “ngcono ukube uyasho mungafuni” . Still keep quiet. It will escalate until she sends a ’fcuk you and goodbye message’ . She will then put up a status update sending a subliminal jab at you (ekugudla) that you’re broke and useless. She will then block you. Setting you free. You will be minus one leech in your life. Keep doing this and you eliminate blood suckers one at a time - Arty Mavuso
