Witnessing the spiritual shifts behind world events.
Connecting the dots across timelines, macro change & collective awakening. This moment isn’t random.
This is free advice from an expensive psychologist. If you’re an anxious person, do everything for fun. Go to a job interview for fun. Submit documents for fun. Start a blog for fun. Anxiety feeds on importance. Don’t make everything a matter of life and death.
telling your brain "i know you don't wanna do the thing and it'll be very uncomfortable for you at first but you can do it buddy. it'll be fine" is actually surprisingly effective. it sounds too simple but that fuckass organ WILL listen to you if you treat it with kindness lol
Since Al is making everyone sound more generic and NPC, I recommend becoming the most unhinged version of you, to counterbalance. Write like a crazy person who hasn't interacted with humanity in years. Break any and all of the rules. Live like a mad, drunk poet. Now is your time to channel the weirdest version of you.
"Develop the strength to do bold things, Not the strength to suffer." - Machiavelli
Putting up with garbage isn't heroic,
Taking action against it, is.
I heard an interview today about AI in creative spaces and the man being interviewed said “AI is data, and Data can only look backwards. Creativity looks forwards.” And I need to sit with that in the best possible way.
Always choose clean pain over dirty pain.
Clean pain is the pain of telling the truth. The pain of leaving. The pain of disappointing someone. The pain of starting. The pain of being bad at something new. The pain of saving money instead of buying the thing. The pain of going to bed while the party continues. The pain of facing the blank page.
Dirty pain is the pain of avoiding clean pain. The pain of staying too long. The pain of lying. The pain of living above your means. The pain of being known inaccurately. The pain of watching your life shrink around a fear you refuse to face. The pain of managing the consequences of cowardice.
Clean pain is often sharp and brief, dirty pain is dull and chronic.
Self-respect is paying the clean cost early.
Sometimes I wonder if one of the reasons why society seems so unwell is that we’ve replaced writing things in journals with posting stuff online.
Our personal lives have become a performance, our authenticity becomes a way to capture the algorithm.
Journaling is a way to get to know ourselves. To express the things we cannot express anywhere else. Without edits.
While performing for the algorithm becomes a way to be seen.
When we don’t have unfiltered time to express ourselves without caring about perfecting it afterward, we become strangers to ourselves.
The most radical thing we can do is maintain a sense of our own private life, where we have time to get to know ourselves, reflect, learn about ourselves, and without feeling the need to turn what was meant to be sacred into a piece of content.
A powerful way to stop your thoughts is to literally shift your focus to the back of your head.
Imagine your mind residing there, just above the neck and below the crown, the area where the brainstem and visual cortex are located.
This helps you draw your attention away from the frontal parts of your brain (where conscious thoughts and internal dialogues occur).
This causes your brain to tune into more basic, unconscious processes such as breathing and intuitive perception.
You create a sort of "stop" in the flow of thoughts, because you simply cannot think with this specific focus.
Give it a try: sit quietly, close your eyes, and bring your focus to the back of your head.
Feel that space, and from there, let your focus follow your breath.
It won't be long before the constant stream of thoughts naturally quiets down, as your brain enters a different state of awareness...
