Critics pointed to the much larger fan diameter of a 757 engine (about 6 feet) and argued this “proved” a different aircraft was used.

✅ The official explanation is simple: what you see is the engine core, not the whole engine. A turbofan engine’s front fan and outer shroud—which give it its large size—are lightweight and designed for cool, low-stress operation. In a 530 mph impact against a reinforced concrete wall, those parts are shredded and consumed by fire, leaving only the smaller, more durable core behind.

The lesson is clear:
They don’t want you to fact-check the viral claims. They want you to trust the dramatic narrative. But when the parts look wrong—and experts have explained exactly why—you have to ask whether you’re seeing a cover-up, or just a lack of understanding.
