❗️ Free the #Ukrainian nuclear workers — The families of imprisoned workers from the #Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (#ZNPP) are calling on the @iaeaorg to demand their release. At least 14 Ukrainian civilian engineers, technicians, and safety specialists remain imprisoned today.

🔺 We are calling on Dr. Rafael Grossi to use his influence and diplomatic channels to urge Putin to immediately release all unlawfully detained ZNPP workers and other local residents.
🔺 #Rosatom must be held accountable for its role in the torture, coercion, and mistreatment of Ukrainian nuclear workers.
🔺 The Russian authorities must also immediately disclose the current working conditions at ZNPP to ensure transparency, nuclear safety, and the protection of workers’ rights.

Ahead of the third #Russia–Africa Summit in October and a potential visit by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha to #Africa in late 2026, the issue of Russia’s influence in Africa and ways to counter it resurfaced. Several African states, including Burkina Faso, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt, Namibia, and Niger, have established nuclear partnerships with Russia. 1/

On 7 September 2026, #Russia and North Korea opened the first road bridge across the #Tumen River, which forms part of their shared border. As our investigation shows, the bridge is more than just infrastructure. Unlike rail transport, road traffic is far harder for open-source investigators to track via satellite imagery. A steady flow of trucks can move specific cargo quickly and flexibly, without the need to assemble conspicuous rail convoys. 1/
