@ApexSeeker_ Heh. Thats something that greatly depends on the conversation that precded it. As an American I can never figure it out either. But both definitely happen and it isnt easy to distinguish.
@sakebu_cheese_ Think of it like a comparison.
Also it may have something to do with Americas origins as a Christian nation. As Christians consider ourselves Brothers and Sisters in Christ. As in we should care for eachother like family even tho we arent related.
@tuuu28283 Yes is effectively a broad term of agreement.
Do you understand? Id do, or I agree I do. Yes
Can I see that? Sure. I agree you can. Yes.
Are you Hungry. I am Hungry. I agree I want food. Yes.
Not the best explanation but may help.
@AtheistTakes James 2:15-16
15 If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?
@ApexSeeker_ Depends on the house if there is a special spot or not to take off shoes.
Many Americans do take off thier shoes once inside the house by the door though. We do at my place.
You kinda just do what your told by who your visiting when you visit. Its not standardized.
@_AlexHirsch@MargoMartin47@POTUS Teddy would be horrified by every politician we have today on both sides of the isle... frankly he barely liked any politicians on his side of the isle in his day even.
@GamerTronSA@lana_viss You know people can change right. Like you cant hold people to their past for ever if they have truly let that go. If you dont agree with that than you are worse, imo.
@ApexSeeker_ I think tipping culture has its place in the USA... HOWEVER it has broken out of that place and is just everywhere. It should be what it originally was. Extra incentive the social side of jobs. Not the main form of payment and not for every service job.
@sakebu_cheese_ Depends where in the USA you are. Some areas want you to say Sir and Ma'am while other areas will think you are being snarky if you do.
Some like Mr and Mrs. Last name and some... well same thing.
You see the problem.
Safest thing is to just make sure to smile and be nice.
@hoshizorarock@BVR_TECH California vs everywhere is a big rivalry. Its kinda like if China was a US state. Its really bad, and honestly our best chance of fixing it is if God activates the San Andres fault.
Although I dont want that, I want people just come to their senses.
Perhaps Im naive tho.
@hoshizorarock@Drewder Idk. New York State can be chill, but the City is full of drugs, muslims praying in the streets, and crime. But... very pretty lights, shops and an amazing Park. Idk that Japan has an equivelant for that. I dont think Japan would put up with it. Insight from Japan would be good.
@Dexerto To be clear ESA is a lobbying group. They arent law makers nor are they the game companies they represent. That said its still concerning, just be properly level of concerned, not overly.
@hoshizorarock Well, there is also New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. We all dispute all the time, especially over driving.
New Jersey is skilled but reckless.
New York isnt skilled and doesnt care.
Pennsylvania drives well.
Im from Pennsylvania. Definitely no bias on my part. lol. 😉
@pirooooon3 As an American, I find it disrespectful and I dont like it when people burn the flag, but believe its covered as freedom of speech so long as the flag they are desecrating is their own property. Again I dont like it tho
I'd imagine the same logic would hold up similarly in Japan.
@sakebu_cheese_ L uses the tongue more and the R uses the jaw more. Rather than just hearing the difference try to also feel the difference. (Of course Im a native English speaker so idk if this will help, but maybe)
@ApexSeeker_ If you arent sure if it will be awkward go for the side hug. Itll be less awkward. Once you are more used to it and get closer to people a closer hug may become more comfortable over time.
Basically in short its just exposure.
Attached Image is side hug for reference.
@GamerTronSA@lana_viss Unless she used to not be and has since repented. In which case she also would not support her own past and take accountability.
