MUST READ This is very bad for artists not with SM. This chart turns major award shows like the #MMAs and #TIMAs into internal SM events.
It ignores true global success on Spotify, counting only automated streams on corporate partner apps to lock non-SM acts out completely.
🔴📰HYBE ranked No. 1 in brand reputation among listed entertainment companies in June✨️
🗣The internet isn't real life.
Every day there's a tweet with 25K likes dragging HYBE and its groups. Meanwhile, in the real world, it's the #1 entertainment company by brand reputation, the top choice for investors in the entertainment industry, and the only company whose groups are selling out tours without needing to create their own chart just to chart. 🤷♀️
It's not only the artists, a lot of people behind the scenes have been affected too:
1. A performance and production company that invested over 20 billion won and later filed a fraud complaint.
2. A video director who worked on self produced content didn't get paid around 34 million won. He said he struggled with family, office, and staff expenses, and even sold filming equipment to repay loans.
3. An music video production company didn't get paid around 68 million won, affecting about 50-60 staff members.
4. A stage costume laundry didn't get paid over 10 million won.
5. A dorm cleaning staff member didn't get paid over 10 million won.
6. Album printing companies that lost tens of billions of won.
7. A security company that worked security for the artists and the chairman's home didn't get paid around 87 million won.
8. Many of other vendors, freelancers, and staff were also affected.
jcw's tax investigation news suddenly dropping right when #that man's comeback propaganda started... i'm seeing a pattern here because why is an investigation being reported like some earth-shattering scandal?
@jaeheetriever Agak susah 😂 Soalnya kulihat-lihat, fans kalau idolnya jarang update tuh udah protes mulu. Entah itu sesimple bubble atau tiktok😅 bahkan beberapa fans nuntut untuk dikasih tau perkara masalah kesehatan idolnya pas si idol lagi hiatus misalnya. Kayak, agensi ngomong mereka lagi-
@jaeheetriever On the one hand I have to applaud the Korean entertainment companies for coming up with the system that they have, as it has bee very lucrative financially. On the other hand the system if brutal to the idols and sells a relationship that is largely fictional.
Kalo mau fans memandang idolnya dengan wajar yaa... Agensi stop jual parasocial relationship, stop jualan bubble, idol jgn terlalu banyak interaksi sama fans, stop fansign dgn sistem top spender, fokus ke jualan karya. Obsesi berkurang, pemasukan agensi pun berkurang wkwk
@SaraGG0125 Kita seluruh fandom K-Pop juga tau kalau global itu bukan cuma 3 negara doang , dikira fandom K-Pop gampang dibodohi apa 🥴kalau begitu mah ngerugiin banyak idol K-Pop mainya busuk @SMentertainmnt@aespa_official 🥴🥴
Who owns melon?
- kakao
Who owns SM?
- kakao
Who has the biggest share of SM & kakao?
- Tencent 😭
So relatively SM-Kakao-Tencent are literally one body. The amount of fraud we gonna see......
Choi Jiye, the journalist who wrote this article (and many others full of unverified details and outright lies about his case for! weeks!!!) was just found guilty of defamation after she helped ruin a different idol's life by inventing sources while reporting on his private life.

And now the first episode of The Show...is a complete mess.
See, my concern is not without reason. They announce to be back --> fan happy --> production team betray fan by behaving like this.
No wonder why there's many issue within the industry
It’s interesting as a kpop fan since 05, seeing how the big3 moved vs how bighit grew. They repeated patterns of corruption with little result, never learning from it. BTS built connection through authenticity at their own pace never compromising their morals and the difference?
EgoENT, home to VVUP, is involved in two lawsuits regarding allegations that it failed to pay staff members who participated in the production of the group's albums and music videos.
