@davecobb My biggest takeaway is that they should have taken it out years ago, and when they did announce it was closing they should have released a Disney+ special acknowledging Song of the South, it’s history of controversy and apologized for it.
@tommyhawkins Doesn’t mean rides can’t be awesome even if they are an evolution of another. FOP is evolution (Perfection) of Soarin’ and Hagrid’s is an evolution in Jetski Coasters and Verbolten elements IMO. VelociCoatser which is top Coaster for me riffs off of Taron at Phantasialand. 2/2
@tommyhawkins Verbolten was compared to Hagrid’s which is located at Universal. Most audiences aren’t used to a drop section in a coaster. Which between that and the quick transfer spike are the unique features that are most awesome. Your original comment was on being “floored” 1/2
@tommyhawkins I factually understand what you are saying.
The critique is that to say that every Disney Ride should be on the level as Rise is an impossible (and unnecessary) standard.
@tommyhawkins I guess the question is “Bare minimum” of what? Emotional connection? Thrills? I don’t want to drag ya hear or gate keep but don’t understand the critique that the most complex, immersive attraction ever created is the “bare minimum”.
