The artist behind this painting, Criselda Vasquez, painted this portrait of her parents in 2017. The man in this painting, her father, was recently taken by ICE. He has lived in the United States for forty years. This loss has made it hard for the family to support themselves. If you want to support them, you can go to their GoFundMe here:

PLEEEEEEASE URGE YOUR CONGRESSMAN TO STOP THIS !!!! THIS ISN'T THEIR LAND TO DECIDE THAT.
This land belongs to the Ojibwe & Chippewa tribes and is sacred lands. This would be yet another treaty broken by the US govt at the expense of our indigenous. #landback
I just don’t get it. White people make so much money off the marijuana industry yet black people get thrown in jail for years for selling a few grams to make a living. Make it make sense
We only have until April 1 to speak out against seabed mining in Alaska waters! 📢
The immense risk of long-term damage to Alaskan marine ecosystems is too high and
far outweighs any questionable, prospective benefits. ⚠️

TODAY: Hundreds of thousands in Minnesota braved -10°F weather to march through downtown Minneapolis as part of the statewide general strike demanding ICE out of the Twin Cities.
Due to a severe lack of donations, we are no longer able to support Sudanese community kitchens at the level we used to. These kitchens are a lifeline. They are how families eat when there is nothing else. Right now that lifeline is weakening.
Donations have slowed to the point where our operations are being interrupted. This is not because the need has gone away. It is because fewer people are seeing our work and fewer people are able or willing to give. The result is that support for some of the most vulnerable Sudanese families is being reduced at the worst possible time.
We also support Palestinian families who have no access to aid through any official channels. These are people who cannot get help from NGOs, governments, or large charities. What we provide may be the only support they receive.
If you cannot donate, please share this. Post it on your social media. Tell people what we do. Tell them we support Sudanese and Palestinian people who have been completely abandoned. Visibility alone can save lives. One share can reach someone who is able to give. One explanation can bring aid back into motion.
We do not have the luxury of silence. If this work stops, people go hungry. Please help us keep it going in any way you can.
Let me be CLEAR. ICE is going door to door where I live. And my crowdfund is being ignored. I am Black. Transgender. Visibly Muslim. And a naturalized citizen(dad was Nigerian). So. Show up. I have no car, job, I am disabled. And I struggle to even get food. Solidarity y'all
