In Buddhism, it is taught that no matter how much we fulfill our desires, “having and not-having are the same.”
“Having and not-having are the same” means that whether we have something or not, we feel anxiety and dissatisfaction all the same.
So the Buddha teaches us that no matter how hard we try to obtain these things, we cannot be happy because our approach to happiness is fundamentally wrong.
No matter how hard we try to be happy, we can't make any progress towards it, as we’re only circling around. It’s “endless.” There is no end to it. In this never-ending cycle, we can never attain happiness.
Why is that? Because it “comes only from the doubting mind.” It is our own mind, but we cannot see this doubting mind unless we listen to Buddhism seriously.

Scientists at CERN have turned lead into gold
Using the Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator they've achieved what ancient alchemists only dreamed of, transforming lead atoms into gold through high-energy physics.
Good morning!
Seeing ruin in hatred and envy,
Let us be benevolent and sympathetic.
Seeing defeat in lust and obsession,
Let us be detached and equanimous.

“I don't know whether the universe, with its countless galaxies, stars and planets, has a deeper meaning or not, but at the very least, it is clear that we humans who live on this earth face the task of making a happy life for ourselves. Therefore, it is important to discover what will bring about the greatest degree of happiness.”
-H.H. The 14th Dalai Lama
War is never inevitable. Weapons can and must fall silent, for they never solve problems but only intensify them. Those who sow peace will endure throughout history, not those who reap victims. Others are not enemies to hate but human beings with whom to speak.
The Holy See is willing to help enemies meet, so they may look each other in the eye and so people may be given back the dignity they deserve: the dignity of peace. With heart in hand, I say to the leaders of nations: let us meet; let us dialogue; let us negotiate!
