McCarthy seals move from Chiefs to Sabah FK
Kaizer Chiefs’ promising young defender Aden McCarthy is set to leave the Club after completing a transfer to Azerbaijan-based Sabah FK.
“We can confirm that we have agreed to release Aden after being approached by Sabah FK. We are proud that he will compete in the qualifying round of next season’s UEFA Champions League. We know Aden will fly the Amakhosi flag high in Europe, and we are excited to see him grow on the world stage,” says Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.

Lets not forget @Khuluns the man who started the dream and the birth of the institute.
NWU are into the playoff finals and officially promoted to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
After several years of attempts the Eagles have finally landed in the professional ranks. 💜🦅
People who don't follow our academy/DDC are often the first to make confident judgments about its progress. It's unfortunate.
We didn't sign Aden McCarthy; he came through the DDC system when he was not even our best CB at DDC at the time. But now we're expected to believe the same DDC can't produce his replacement?🤦🏾♂️
As far back as 2022, Cossa was already showing signs of having even greater potential than McCarthy. In 2024, Coach Nabi took Cossa to the Legends Cup with the first team, alongside "Flash," who is currently on loan at Casric Stars. Cossa has been part of the 1st team before he went out on loan. He went on to become captain on loan. How do we not see this as progress?
The club is giving opportunities to our academy boys, and we complain.
When the club fails to promote and provide opportunities to some of its most talented youngsters, we complain. Then, when clubs like TS Galaxy come calling for those same players we've failed to support for 1st team football, we complain again. Where exactly are these players supposed to go and play their football?
We seem to complain no matter what happens.
The real conversation should be about bringing in top-quality signings, not blocking pathways for academy talent. Many of our DDC players are already better than some of the older, underperforming players who continue to get opportunities in the first team.
The irony is that we've become so accustomed to mediocre contributions from certain senior players that average performances are now treated as acceptable simply because expectations were never high to begin with. Meanwhile, academy players are expected to prove themselves before they've even been given a proper chance.
Xolani Cossa is a top talent that can easily close the gap left by Aden McCarthy should his move be finalized. There is absolutely nothing Aden can do that Cossa can't.
We want to extend our gratitude to the coaches for their dedication and contribution, and wish them all the best in their future.

I am happy to see this baller back in the team.
Created the most chances[3] in the 1st half from that double pivot role.
■ Won 3/4 duels, but still lacks a little bit of match sharpness.
Mshini❤️✌🏾
