@somnolethe I believe that most people without adhd just cannot fathom motivation not being a factor.
Trying to convince someone you want to do something, being unable to do it and that punishment or reward, task length or difficulty has no bearing on it is simply impossible
@uiulex i’d love to hear what people hate about the combat specifically cause I don’t remember having any particular issues with it..
i thought the command deck itself was cool experimentation for a shorter non-numbered game.
@Apple66852518@vitya_krutka@Sonessed25@AndreCajou he developed his over the top masculinity to hide that side of him, why would the public perception of him be what he’s spent years hiding?
It makes so much more sense if it’s based on what he thinks people think (or will think) of him, as well as his self doubts
@CourierPostman@caprico37 Sounds harsh but it’s the truth, people think large online presence is reflective of the majority.. when it’s just not.
Even if you go and find over 500,000 LGBT fans online and that’s still less than 50% of sales for the first game on pc alone
@stellaefons KH2 started fixing this issue, she (with no powers) started seeking sora, even saying when reunited “this time i’ll be the one saving you”
KH3 looked promising, she was training getting stronger, had a goal.. before doing a 180, reverting her to kh1 style damsel in distress
@vitya_krutka@Sonessed25@AndreCajou This doesn’t hold up if you think about anyone who isn’t rise.
Who is doubting kanji’s masculinity?
Who thinks yukiko working at her family inn is trapped?
it’s self doubts + how you think others see you, amplified
Why would you have to accept it as you if it’s public opinion?
@DrillbotKillbot being invested in a game and liking game grumps is a curse
it’s gonna be super annoying when they’re talking over lore heavy parts and end up confused later…but they’re still entertaining as hell
Even arin brushing over/not explaining kh1 stuff for Dan stressed me out lmao
@lifewaster666@psuedohymn I agree, it doesn’t help that it goes against normal people’s lived experience, it’s nearly incomprehensible
“you can’t do something you WANT to do? you just need more motivation!”
@AaronPG3@EldinFlame@ProdigyxCD The secret ending didn’t exist in the original Japanese release of the game, they quite literally added it later to gauge fan reception for a potential sequel
@EldinFlame@ProdigyxCD Yes, but notice how nothing about chain of memories is showed, no castle oblivion or any new/lingering threats?
If the game series ended there you’d think “there’s hope for Donald and Goofy to get to Mickey after all”
look at most FF endings, room for a sequel but not “expected”
@geckosbitch@saltydkdan I’d argue that Kingdom hearts 1 is the only game in the series that actually answers all of its questions, it’s just a bittersweet ending.
they didn’t expect a sequel, they didn’t know if it would work or be popular. This ‘plot setup’ is just what they chose to expand on later
@KasaneTetosWife@bayntta@LocusMomus@Teleste010@XEry7K@adawonglover767 Sure, you’ve missed my point though, I’m not saying “but but the lore!”
I’m saying characters change significantly, especially in the last few chapters or when motives are presented.
Some characters become awful people, surely RPing without that full knowledge isn’t ideal?
@bayntta@LocusMomus@Teleste010@XEry7K@adawonglover767 You don’t think it’s insane to RP as a character without knowing the ins and outs of that character? I mentioned junko before, but imagine if someone liked the look of korekiyo and based RPing the character on the first few chapters, without knowing all the details lmao
@JaylaDoodles Exactly, I can’t stand hearing “well honestly I’ve never really liked their stuff” someone doing awful shit should be the focus not just it morally aligning with your opinion..
Likewise just because someone isn’t a bad person doesn’t mean you should pretend their shit is good
