@arshpath@sumanthraman AAP → BJP was in the Rajya Sabha, where the Vice President/Chairman approved it relatively quickly.
TMC rebels → BJP would be in the Lok Sabha & the legal ground is shakier because the matter is still not fully settled.
@arshpath@sumanthraman In short ,they couldn’t just join BJP directly without risking disqualification & they couldn’t form a breakaway TMC faction either.Merging with NCPI as 2/3rd of the TMC’s parliamentary group gives them legal cover to stay in Parliament while effectively working with the BJP.
@arshpath@sumanthraman The NCPI managed just 822 votes in the 2023 Tripura Assembly elections. Lost its deposit. Why do you think NCPI is so attractive to 20 rebels ?
@akron_88@RajeevRC_X@sundarpichai Our politicians haven't been able to be great role models for the youth. We need younger politicians & leadership entering the arena across parties, they will bring different standards and accountability expectations.
@TVMohandasPai@rajdeep In Indian politics, ambition at the national level invites the full weight of the establishment -from media to judiciary to enforcement agencies. That Rahul Gandhi continues to remain a credible opposition force suggests either resilience, strategic patience or both
@kuttan337@Politicx2029 Muslim turnout was actually lower at 62% compared to the national average of 65%. So hindus turned out more, not less. This directly contradicts the claim of hindu voter suppression at scale.
Muslims voted strategically for INDIA rather religious identit, AIMM lost vote share.
@bainjal I understand the frustration & the concerns about sensitivity around cadaver donation, completely valid ,it’s a profound act of generosity that deserves the utmost respect.
That said, I’d hope we can hold journalism to the same high standard we’re demanding of doctors.
@niprsaka@jgopikrishnan70 Totally different. Meenakshi natarajan’s case involves alleged affidavit discrepancies -meaning the returning Officer is questioning what she declared, not a missing external certificate.
@kuttan337@Politicx2029 BJP, which held 201 rural constituencies retained only 126 of them. The BJP saw a decline in rural vote share from 39.5% in 2019 to 34.8% in 2024. Someone won those rural seats and it wasn’t only regional parties; Congress won many directly.
