@melissasigodo There is no verifiable evidence that he ran 30 marathons in 35 days. He also claimed to have completed the last 9 with a hairline fracture to his leg.
@I_amMukhtar How did Jason Arday die btw, was it a lynching ?
If it wasn’t a lynching, then using a public platform saying that it was is pretty damn vile
*Sighs* No, they didn't Zack, you're shamelessly misrepresenting the data. Again. A quick reminder:
1. The statistics you're referring to measure deaths recorded during 'heat episodes' (periods consisting of a few days where temperatures reach more than 20°C, which is far from uncommon), and defines any excess compared to non-heat episode periods as 'heat related'
2. If someone dies in an RTC during a heat episode, their death will be included in the 'heat related' figures even though it is not, distoring the true picture. You won't find 'heat' stated as the cause on any death certificates
3. The body (UKHSA) that compiles this data highlights the limits of its reliability due to the methodology
4. The figures are for the calendar year, not just the summer
I think we need regulations that are applied solely to politicians to prevent them wilfully spreading disinformation like this online, on social media, and in print... something for @Ofcom and @ElectoralCommUK to think about. Voters should be able to trust elected representatives, and those seeking election, to present information truthfully.
