@StephenBurd2 The problem is the use of the term "financial aid" because the public interprets that phase as an effort to help. If they called it something more honest, we'd all be in a better place.
Looking forward to presenting the first of five college planning webinars in 5 languages simultaneously! English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Hakha Chin.

@sarayelich Shout it from the rooftops. I get so tired of the presumptions that funders and philanthropies often make about "where the poor people at."
Colleges will truly be student-centric when they stop trying to retain a student and instead help them persist toward success, regardless of where that student should be enrolled.
@sarayelich come on! they just want to tell you about the concept of tuition and fees . . . actually listing what those numbers are? Oh boy. In this age of data security . . .
sigh.
@kevincarey1@melissakorn@anfuller Free markets aren't always the answer, but solving information asymmetry when it comes to prices might be a good start. https://t.co/5MSnKNd0Cq
@michaelbhorn Just read the first paragraph of this essay to my writing professor wife, and under threat of violence forced me to stop after the third sentence. She reminded me of an actual line from an actual paper of one her students, that referred to the "totem pole of equality." Sigh. π€£
