Tier 1: Lower limit is Sh8,000 → 6% of Sh8,000 = Sh480

Tier 2: Upper limit is Sh72,000 → (Sh50,000 - Sh8,000) = Sh42,000 → 6% of Sh42,000 = Sh2,520

Total NSSF contribution for 2025: Sh480 + Sh2,520 = Sh3,000

Here’s the breakdown for someone earning Sh40,000 in 2025:

Tier 1: Lower limit is Sh8,000 → 6% of Sh8,000 = Sh480

Tier 2: Upper limit is Sh72,000 → (Sh40,000 - Sh8,000) = Sh32,000 → 6% of Sh32,000 = Sh1,920

Total NSSF contribution for 2025: Sh480 + Sh1,920 = Sh2,400

Let's calculate the NSSF deductions for someone earning Sh30,000 in 2025.

Tier 1: Lower limit is Sh8,000 → 6% of Sh8,000 = Sh480

Tier 2: Upper limit is Sh72,000 → (Sh30,000 - Sh8,000) = Sh22,000 → 6% of Sh22,000 = Sh1,320

Total NSSF contribution for 2025: Sh480 + Sh1,320 = Sh1,800

In 2026, Tier 1 will be 6% of Sh9,000(lower limit)= Sh540.

Tier 2 will be 6% of Sh99,000 (the difference between Sh108,000(Upper Limit)and Sh9,000), which is Sh5,940.

Total contribution: Sh6,480.

Tier 1 : Sh8,000(lower limt) → 6% = Sh480

Let’s start with 2023. The NSSF contribution had two parts: Tier 1 and Tier 2.

For Tier 1, the contribution was 6% of Sh6,000(lower limit) ,which is Sh360.

For Tier 2 it was 6% of Sh12,000 (the difference between Sh18,000(Upper limit) and Sh6,000), which is Sh720.

Total NSSF contribution: Sh1,080
