Wild tulips don’t have to be petite. Tschimganica (chim-GAN-ih-kuh) makes full-size bulbs. The flowers are suitably large and very showy: bright yellow with broad cranberry stripes on the outer petals. It comes from the Tien Shan Mountains, Central Asia. #TulipTuesday

Bakeri Lilac Wonder is a wild tulip native to the island of Crete, with dainty pink #flowers with deep yellow centers. Their low stature makes them ideal in garden bed edges, and they’ll come back for several years. #TulipTuesday
The Foxtrot is a late blooming Double Tulip with sugary pink and white petals. It needs full sun to get a vibrant hue, as shade will make its color more muted. #TulipTuesday#Flowers
Negrita has deep purple blooms with a blue eye. A sturdy and dependable Triumph tulip that blooms in mid-late spring and it’s clearly the best solid #purple around. It combines wonderfully with lighter-colored flowers. #TulipTuesday
'Prinses Irene' is a compact beauty with orange #flowers that are licked with purplish flames on the exterior. Excellent for bedding where space is tight or the wind fierce. Also well suited to forcing in pots. #TulipTuesday
Tulip "Suncatcher" is a brilliant two-toned #flower that blooms in mid to late spring and belongs to the Triumph Tulip group. It has sturdy stems that can stand up to wind and rain, and is also a good choice for floral arrangements. #TulipTuesday

Tulipa Turkestanica is a wild tulip that's easy to grow and makes a good perennial. They're small white flowers with a gold eye, borne 4-8 per stem. #TulipTuesday
