What makes ep5 so painful is that Peem and Parn are both acting out of love, but the way they’re trying to protect that love is slowly destroying them.

Parn wanted to settle the debt quietly. She planned to return to the club for just seven days to help Jae Mol, with no intention of entertaining clients or selling herself. She had already drawn her boundaries because she loved Peem and respected their relationship. All she wanted was to clear the debt, leave that life behind, and return to the future she wanted to build with Peem. But knowing Peem’s prejudice against her work, she was afraid to tell her. She thought she could handle everything on her own and keep their happiness untouched, never realizing that her silence would leave room for Peem’s worst fears to take over.

Meanwhile, Peem was genuinely happy, ready to introduce Parn to Thanwa and bring her further into her world. She was starting to imagine a future with Parn in it, only for that happiness to turn into suspicion and hurt when she couldn’t reach Parn, found out she’d missed baking school, and saw her with Techin. Instead of asking and listening, Peem filled in the blanks herself. Her fear of being betrayed turned into anger, and she reached for the one thing she knew how to use when she felt vulnerable: control. She wanted Parn to reassure her that she was enough, that she was the one Parn wanted, but she never gave Parn the chance to explain herself.

When Peem used David to make Parn jealous and then humiliated her in front of Techin, it felt like she wanted Parn to hurt the way she was hurting. She wanted Parn to feel that she could be replaced, too. But the cruel irony is that Peem was still so deeply affected by Parn, acting out of jealousy and hurt while knowing so little about what had actually happened.

And that’s what hurts the most. Parn was trying to protect the future she wanted with Peem, while Peem was so afraid of losing it that she ended up pushing Parn away herself. One kept things hidden because she was afraid the truth would cost her the person she loved; the other refused to listen because she was afraid the truth would confirm her worst fears.

Neither of them has stopped loving the other. But love cannot survive on good intentions alone. Parn’s silence took away Peem’s chance to understand, while Peem’s anger took away Parn’s chance to be heard. They’re still in love, but their fear, pride, and assumptions have become louder than the love between them.

They don’t need to love each other more. They need to learn to trust each other enough to tell the truth, to listen even when it hurts, and to let each other choose.

Because Parn is trying so hard to protect the future she wants with Peem, and Peem is destroying that very future because she’s terrified of losing it. 💔
