We strongly condemn the deliberate targeting of civilians. No military considerations can ever justify such senseless actions. The burden of proof and accountability now rests squarely on the Arakan Army.

BaBa, I'm Drowning
My father held my hand as we faced our fear
The noise of drones still thunders in my ears at night
Our home burned and the river drew us in
Now the water whispers our dearest names
Baba, I’m drowning and the boat is sinking

JUST IN:
Intense fighting between the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army (AA) is ongoing in Maungdaw Township's Fezi and Ali villages, where thousands of Rohingya reside. The fighting isn't taking place inside the villages, but the Myanmar military has taken positions at the borders of the villages, and the AA has been firing from near the villages. The military is forcing the Rohingya to leave the villages, but there is no way for them to get out. As the fighting intensifies, once the Rohingya leave, there will be massive casualties according to the situation.
International Humanitarian Law doesn't permit the use of civilian areas for warfare. Both groups know this, but they still violate all laws, including the Geneva Convention, and continually kill the Rohingya.
Both groups are responsible for providing safe passage for civilians to leave the area. The Rohingya civilians are urging both parties to stop fighting for a while so they can move to a safe place.
In Maungdaw Township of Rakhine State, the Arakan Army (AA) has been targeting Rohingya civilians with drones and artillery. Yesterday (August 5th), in a single day, at least 200 Rohingya civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, were killed and many were injured. There are countless bodies. Watch this footage.
Martin Griffith, UN head of Humanitarian Aid met MAL today in Naypyitaw. Suspect that OCHA will be given some access concerning Cyclone Mocha in coordination with AHA and the Junta. IDPs in resistance areas should not expect anything!

Why have I been hurt since birth?
My life has been consumed by torment
Like I'm half killed
I was forced to flee from my home.
I became a refugee before
I knew my country well….
