RETAIL BITCOIN DEMAND NOW EXCEEDS SUPPLY — REPORT

- The demand from small Bitcoin $BTC holders now outpaces the cryptocurrency’s new supply, according to a recent Bitfinex report.

- The latest data shows that smaller wallet holders—known as Shrimp (<1 BTC), Crabs (1–10 BTC), and Fish (10–100 BTC)—are collectively adding around 19,300 BTC per month. That’s well above the post-halving issuance rate of 13,400 BTC monthly.

- Bitfinex analysts called them “price-agnostic” and “relentless.”

Bitcoin Breaks New Highs:

- Bitcoin recently surged to $123,060, setting a new all-time high before retracing to $117,000.

- The rally was accompanied by over $430 million in liquidated shorts. The supply-demand imbalance appears to be fueling this upward momentum.

What’s Behind the Retail Surge?

- Scarcity: Bitcoin’s 21M cap is becoming more meaningful.
- Price FOMO: Retail doesn’t want to miss the next big leg.
- ETF Effect: Institutional adoption has validated BTC as a long-term asset.

- Bitfinex noted that this new wave of buyers is driving a market phase unlike any seen before.

- Moreover, GameStop, Trump Media, and even treasury-focused firms are adding Bitcoin at a record pace.

- While some expect Bitcoin to hit $140,000, others are more cautious. Redstone co-founder, Marcin Kazmierczak pointed out that parabolic runs often lead to sharp corrections.
