And if you wanted to argue that labor can be a fruitful part of rehabilitation in this context, that doesn’t change the exploitative nature that capitalism encourages here~ prison fueling low prices creates a vested interest by corporations to lobby for MORE prisoners, not peace.

What is the intended purpose of a prison? To protect the general public and to rehabilitate people to prevent further crime? If we can agree on that then I think we can agree that prison labor for corporations is exploitative & at odds with the purpose of detaining people.
