A California couple disappeared after being convicted of stealing $21 million in government COVID-19 relief funds. Richard Ayvazyan and Marietta Terabelian, who were under house arrest, cut off their ankle monitors and fled before sentencing, leaving a note for their three children telling them they were “going away” and to “be strong.”
The pair had used fake identities and shell companies to fraudulently claim millions meant for struggling businesses, spending the money on luxury homes, jewelry, and cars. Despite an international manhunt, they remained at large for months before being apprehended in Montenegro in 2022. Their case became one of the most audacious examples of pandemic-era fraud in the U.S.
@m3y7_ Cant justify one sin from another though. Knowing its Haram and commiting it is something personal but calling it not haram is an entire different debate
