Donatello, in his room, not too long after his conversation with Leonardo had him looking at his hoard of gadgets and toys, every one them had a use or could be useful, he just had to figure it out. Everyo—thing had a use. You just to find the right spot, the 1/?
I appreciate that Dolly Parton played no part in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people.
In any form, destroying a source of material is not achieving it.. It removes potential competitor..
AI felt threated people would stop using them, thus destroying other source of information is a the only strategy for it to keep them self alive
And lots of people try to lean so much with that kind of system? Lol
@Jeff_like_Feff they're not destroying the books because it's easier or cheaper, they're doing it because a judge decided if they destroy the books, they're not copying it, they're transferring to internal digital text for AI training which does not violate copyright law
Interesting, because Amazon would have me believing that in order to digitize a book you have to destroy the rare first edition version of it for your AI.
(thank you Internet Archive for archiving our internet and media <3, you are an invaluable resource)
She HAD to do this cause in the beginning they were NOT trying to give the vaccines to poor people. There were cases NATIONWIDE in Pennsylvania, Colorado, Texas, and elsewhere of the rich being prioritized. She made sure Appalachia, one of the POOREST places in the US, got access.
Colleague just said in the group chat that they couldn't work yesterday because they had a really nasty scratchy sore throat.
No laughing emoji though.
we really have to get rid of that mindset so many people have where poor people aren’t allowed to have fun. Hobbies ARE a necessity. I don’t think people realize that even with food, shelter, etc etc, you will still suffer the mental consequences of lacking enrichment. It can ++
On August 18th 1939 Germany ordered the registration of children who showed signs of severe mental or physical disabilities. Parents were encouraged to surrender their children with disabilities to the care of the regime.
They were all murdered by starvation or lethal injection!
Imagine (rightfully) masking to protect your personal health yet having zero issues using technology that is actively harming the health of minoritized communities while hastening climate collapse
>Valve shuts down the steam store
>My PC stays a PC
>Sony shuts down the playstation store
>My PS5 is now a paperweight
Why is this so complicated to understand for some people
Ngl it's especially weird to see people with ME saying this, even though I know most people only got it less than 10 years ago, but y'all... doctors only decided we're real disabled people like 5 minutes ago. And some of them still aren't on board.
@welp_max and then they make an excuse like "well the energy is too much and it'll damage the batteries" meanwhile thats what engineers exist for. to solve problems
@welp_max It's interesting, fossil fuel has a hard limit when that runs out so does the oil and coal giants revenue.
while renewable energy just doesn't. Its effectively infinite, which essentially means infinite renewable money. All it would take is investing a bit of money to start off
