Tre’s another good example for other athletes and parents stressing about the recruiting process.
First offer came at the end of his junior year (not season, school year). Out-of-state FCS school after his spring game.
Added another FCS offer during June camp season.
Washington State comes in with the offer in the back half of October, late his senior season… and now he’ll be heading to a PAC-(1)2 school out of HS.
Not every process is going to play out that way. But most aren’t stacking big offers as sophomores. LSU’s newest 2026 commitment (Kevin Johnson Jr.) wasn’t someone many ppl outside of CenLA were talking about before last week.
HS recruiting is tougher than ever for athletes in the portal era.
But everybody’s process is different. Don’t let comparison be the thief of your joy. Keep the main things the main things, try to maximize your opportunities and don’t let over-stressing about the timeline distract from your priorities.
Can only sign with one school at a time, and it doesn’t matter when that offer comes — as long as it’s real on signing day.
After a lot of thought and conversations with my family, I've decided to decommit from Liberty University. I want to thank Liberty University and the coaching staff for their time and support.
This wasn't an easy decision, but I'm excited for what's ahead. @samspiegs

I was lucky enough to cover Corey the last few years and was so excited to see him in Oxford. Gone way too soon: https://t.co/ftEZaSbaJV
