A basket of groceries in Istanbul is now more expensive than in the UK.
I compared two online shopping baskets - 1 from Carrefour for delivery in Istanbul; one from Sainsbury's.
The price of 19 basic items in the UK totalled £44.53.
The price of the 19 basic items in Istanbul totalled 4,425.18 TL / £71.99 at today's exchange rate.
I compared using the cheapest available options and the most similar items/quantities available.
There are a few items that really push up the cost of the grocery basket in Turkey, namely beef and instant coffee (?!). Some goods such as olive oil are roughly the same price as in the UK, while some items such as eggs, milk and onions are quite a bit cheaper in Turkey.
The gross minimum wage in Turkey is 33,030 (£537.88) a month.
The gross minimum wage in the UK is £12.71 an hour for people over 21. Assuming a 35 hour working week, this is £444.85 a week.
None of this is to say that people in the UK have it easy. I know the cost of living crisis - already years in the making and now exacerbated by the war in Iran - is hitting many people very very hard.
The point I'm rather trying to make is that inflation in Turkey is crazy, pushing living costs up to levels that far outstrip what many people earn.

The forgotten soldiers of World War II... 🥀
When we learn about World War II, we rarely hear about the millions of Turkestani youths caught between Stalin’s regime and Hitler’s army. Conscripted by the Soviets, handed wooden rifles, and treated as second-class soldiers, hundreds of thousands were killed or captured on the frontlines.

Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Regarding Greece's Practices Towards the Mufti Offices of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority:
Greece continues to insist on ignoring the rights and freedoms of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority, which are guaranteed by the Lausanne Peace Treaty, by not recognizing the Muftis elected by the Minority.
The process of determining an "appointed Mufti," imposed under the guise of an "election" without consulting the representatives and institutions of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority in Didymoteicho in recent months, is now being attempted in the provinces of Rhodope and Xanthi. It is not possible for us to accept these practices. On this occasion, we once again bring to the attention of the international community that Greece does not recognize the elected religious leaders of an official minority in its country.
We emphasize that the cessation of Greece's oppressive practices against our kinsmen will also positively affect our bilateral relations, and we call on the Greek authorities to turn back from the wrong path they insist on following regarding the Western Thrace Turkish Minority.
Turkey, also taking into account its treaty obligations, will continue to closely monitor the protection of the rights of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority in Greece.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reportedly tried to make light of the situation in Russia by laughing during his meeting with Putin.
Pashinyan stated:
“Armenia is a democratic country […] There are citizens who think there is too much democracy in Armenia. For example, our social networks are 100% free, with no restrictions. […] Unlike Russia, we don’t have a single political prisoner in our prisons.”
#Pashinyan also said that parliamentary elections will be held soon in #Armenia, followed by the election of a new prime minister.
“Only Armenian citizens can participate in these elections; that is, people holding Russian passports cannot be candidates for parliament or prime minister.”
