@MrToolen@DandurandJason Personally, I want to add that reteaching does not mean doing the exact same thing a second time. It requires looking for a new strategy or method. #ROXPLC18
Differing interpretations is a problem everywhere. It's what causes issues in the law, Constitution, etc... It's a beautiful thing, but also a frustrating thing. #ROXPLC18
@DandurandJason A4: Rubrics that are focused on proficiency. Why put the effort into determining perfect wording for an emerging skill? Discussion and "norming" also takes place... #ROXPLC18#Table20
"as teachers, we're always in panic mode. Our focus is on putting out fires. Long term planning takes a backseat when we have kids with immediate needs" #ROXPLC18#Table20
@DandurandJason A3: vertical alignment is the only way to ensure this... And even then, expectations always change, so it's not a box to check and then move on... #ROXPLC18#Table20
@DandurandJason A2: it should be a rapid pace, with some room for reteaching. There are times when you just have to move on, and interventions need to be put into place at a certain point. #ROXPLC18#Table20
@DandurandJason A1: curriculum maps and syllabi hold both teachers and students accountable (even when they have their limitations, like pacing) #ROXPLC18#Table20
Creating a viable curriculum needs a balance of "love of kids" and "love of content".... And a willingness to constantly revise. It's never done, and that's what makes it difficult for many. #ROXPLC18
