What a travesty! This should be a visual arts prize, not a music prize for a singer. It's a tragedy that Dexter Dalwood did not win. #tp2010

Well the show made me want to find more about Michel Serres. And to make a film about the return of a drowned lover. #tp2010

Sound won the Turner prize for the first time ever. Come on Susan Philipsz! - emotion and intellectual response won over the judges. #TP2010

I'm so bored of painting! even when you take the canvas off the wall it doesn't make it any better. Otalith to win! #tp2010

Some like it hot. Some like it old. this 'modern' art will never get old #tp2010

Wonder whether Dalwood still gets called a 'local artist' in the south west now that he has National fame....oh wait, I see a sheep! #tp2010

Susan Phillipz to win for sure! amazing to see everyone in a room with their eyes shut experiencing art in a new way #tp2010

Dexter Dalwood does it for me. Like the scale and the whoomph of his work. The paintings are beautiful and stay in your mind. The so #tp2010

[Tate Turner Prize @TurnerPrize_SMS]

Dalwood paintings are well composed and good ideas but not well painted. The rest of the show is weak. #tp2010

Lowlands. Similar spiritual feel as as the seagram paintings. But great to have so much variety in a turner prize exhibition! Lx #tp2010

I vote for Dexter Dalwood. Expect judges will go for sound as it's new. Peter Sheppard #tp2010

Dexter Dalwood hands down. Bravo for owning painting, reflecting and engaging with history, and employing narrative. All the things #tp2010
