The kids are not ok. Kids (5+) can’t move from their desks. Ice on the school grounds earlier this week meant lots of kids didn’t have outdoor recess/lunch. Our school ground is flooded today and likely the rest of the week. I’m worried about our kids. I feel for our teachers.
Hey @KatrinaCBurnaby, I’m curious why you have your DM’s on insta filtered? Your Insta account isn’t a private one, talks about your work as an MLA, etc. Lots of important discussion related to childcare in BC going on and I fear you’re missing it.
🧵 A thread, on discrimination and accessibility in child care for children and youth with disabilities.
Sharing on behalf of my friend, Katie Jameson, who shared her experience with her daughter at a @YMCA_Canada after school program on her IG stories today.
My polling station was a 15 minute drive away… I have the privilege of owning a vehicle. That’s a huge barrier for someone to exercise their democratic right.
It was tough for our family to get there by 7pm. 3 kids in tow, arrived at at 6:59 and we were the last people allowed to vote at our polling station. Lots of young people and families arriving after us, turned away.
@richardzussman I think this is really too bad. I’m honestly surprised by the negative press. I got vaccinated at this clinic and so did about two dozen of my friends. Some waited 15 minutes, some over 4 hours and all were just grateful to receive their vaccine.
@richardzussman The province underestimated how desperate the 30-40 crowd is to get vaccinated. 30-40’s are the ones working, ones with young kids, the ones who have to be open and take risks in order to survive.
@SuzanneAnton@adriandix@ReneeMerrifiel3 I’m curious why you’d want to see restrictions lifted so soon after NYE? Curious to see what our numbers look like in the next week or so.
On top of the wildlife issue, @CityofPoCo’s roads can’t handle more development up there, @cityofcoquitlam gets all the tax money. Why aren’t more people upset about this?? When will the development end?!
Just talked to someone who lives at the v top of Burke Mtn @cityofcoquitlam. Huge chunk of property just bought by a developer, big community plan. Neighbour says wildlife calmly walking through his property daily. What happens to these animals when more houses are built??
