Youngstown State commit, 2026 - 6’4 SG Jacob Spurlock (@JSpur2026) of #10 Boyd County finished with 45 points (9 3FG’s), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals against Maryville (TN).
Spurlock has now made 508 three pointers in his career. Making him 2nd all time in KHSAA.
It is rare to see an athlete even approach 1500 career points. It is even rarer to see one climb to the historic mark of 500 made three-pointers. But history does not wait on ordinary nights, and yesterday it arrived in unforgettable fashion at the @TurnkeyClassic .
The Bucket Mystro @JSpur2026 of @BoydCountyHigh etched his name deeper into the record books with a moment that will be talked about for a long time. In the best game of the day, on the biggest stage, with the lights burning hot, Jacob delivered history with authority. He splashed 9 triples, each one louder than the last, and lit up the scoreboard with a record-breaking 45-point barrage that felt inevitable once he caught fire. The gym knew it. The crowd felt it. The moment was his.
This was not just a milestone. This was a statement. Poise under pressure. Confidence that never wavered. Shot after shot falling with purpose as history unfolded in real time. Five hundred made threes reached not quietly, but in dramatic, jaw-dropping fashion, the only way it could happen for a player built for big moments.
And the most intriguing part of it all is that he is far from finished. Momentum is building. Records are trembling. More history is clearly on the horizon before this season comes to a close.
Jacob Spurlock is just getting started. Keep a close eye on him. What will he do next? Stay tuned.
Much love to the @TurnkeyClassic for the opportunity to be in the building and cover an event that truly delivered from start to finish. The gym was alive with talent, fierce battles, momentum swings, and competitors who left everything on the floor. It was the kind of environment that reminds you why this game is special.
A huge thank you to all the teams, athletes, and parents who brought the energy, the support, and the passion. The effort, intensity, and sportsmanship on display made the entire weekend an absolute blast. Grateful to be part of it, grateful to tell these stories, and already looking forward to the next one.
My final game wrap-up of the @TurnkeyClassic featured the host, Knox Webb, in a gritty showdown against a tough and fearless Ambassador Christian squad. From the opening tip, this one felt different. Two teams loaded with high-level talent, playing with edge, confidence, and something to prove. Webb came out setting the tone early with sharp ball movement, unselfish play, and timely shot making. The offense flowed with rhythm, looking like a well-oiled machine, and after a strong first quarter, it felt like Webb might blow the doors open.
But Ambassador Christian never blinked. They answered every run with toughness and poise, chipping away and keeping it within reach. By halftime, what had looked like it could turn into a runaway had tightened back up, with Webb holding just a 30-24 lead, and the tension building inside the gym.
The third quarter turned into a statement stretch for @rjmoore2027. He elevated his game to another level, scoring 10 in the quarter and putting the Ambassadors right back in the fight. Shot after shot, he applied pressure and momentum, helping Ambassador Christian push ahead 42-38 heading into the fourth. Suddenly, the hosts were staring at a real test.
Then the fourth quarter arrived, and it belonged to @owen_lentz. Webb’s little giant flipped the script in a hurry, catching fire in a flash and raining down 4 threes with a punishing edge that sucked the life out of any comeback hopes. Each shot felt bigger than the last, swinging momentum back and putting the crowd on notice. That offensive burst was backed by gritty, relentless team defense, forcing turnovers, contesting everything, and making life miserable for Ambassador down the stretch.
Webb closed it out with poise to secure a hard-earned 58- 51 win. Owen finished with 19 points, delivering when it mattered most. On the other side, RJ Moore was sensational, pouring in a game-high 25 points in a tough loss, refusing to back down until the final horn. A dramatic, high-level battle that was a fitting way to close out the Turnkey Hardwood Classic.
My second highlighted game of the @TurnkeyClassic in Knoxville that grabbed my attention early was a gritty battle between Providence Christian Academy and Hargrove Military Academy, and this one was a straight-up test of toughness from the opening tip. Both teams came out swinging, trading blows in a low-scoring slugfest that ended the first quarter tied at 12-12. Nothing came easy. Every bucket was earned. The second quarter stayed just as tight, with Providence barely edging ahead 27-26 at the half as the game continued to feel like it could tilt either way at any moment.
Then the third quarter hit, and the tone completely shifted. Nick Anderson caught fire and turned the game on its head. He started cooking in a big way, throwing down two nasty dunks that lit up the gym and gave Providence real momentum. But his impact went far beyond scoring. Down the stretch of the quarter, Nick took on the challenge of guarding Hargrove’s best player and flat-out shut him down, setting the tone on the defensive end while still leading the charge offensively. That two-way stretch helped Providence open up a 46- 39 lead heading into the fourth.
From there, Providence never looked back. They stayed composed, answered every push, and closed the door for a 59-49 win. Nick finished with a game-high 18 points, delivering on both ends when it mattered most. Hargrove was led by Isaac Smith, who battled hard and had 15 points in the loss. A physical, hard-fought game that turned on effort, toughness, and a big-time third-quarter takeover.
Red Bank knocks off a talented Kirkwood team this evening at the @TurnkeyClassic 74-68. Great event, well ran, with a talented field of teams.

Big win at home tonight to wrap up the @turnkeyclassic. Some much needed time off before tipping off the 901 TOC on Friday vs. St. Frances (MD).
Today at the @TurnkeyClassic in Knoxville delivered a full slate of fierce battles and tight games, but none carried more anticipation or delivered more drama than the showdown between @BoydCountyHigh and @MHSRebelsMBB. The crowd was solid and engaged. Not overwhelming, but loud enough to feel every swing of momentum. Every run mattered. Every stop brought a reaction. The atmosphere stayed charged from start to finish.
This was a basketball specialist’s dream. Momentum shifted constantly. Runs came and went. The intensity never faded. There were multiple moments where the entire gym seemed to pause, holding its breath as the game teetered on the edge.
Maryville struck first, coming out with confidence and balance to seize an early double-digit lead. They controlled the tempo and forced Boyd County to absorb the opening punch. But Boyd is never out of a game as long as The Bucket Mystro, @JSpur2026, is on the floor.
Out of a timeout, Jacob took over. He scored 10 points and, in the process, surpassed 500 made three pointers for his career. The buzz in the gym shifted instantly. You could feel it building. What no one anticipated was just how explosive the night would become.
Maryville’s big man @luke_sigmund35 answered with toughness, grinding out 8 hard-earned points inside and helping Maryville carry a 33- 26 lead into halftime.
The second half turned into a showcase.
Jacob came out on fire, hitting from deep and scoring in bunches. Possession after possession, he delivered, pushing Boyd County to a 47-46 lead heading into the fourth as the crowd grew louder with every make.
Maryville refused to fade. During a tense stretch of back-and-forth basketball, Big Luke delivered three rim-rocking throw-downs at different moments, each one answering a big bucket on the other end and keeping Maryville steady. Every dunk felt like a response. Every response kept the pressure sky high.
From there, it was a battle to the final seconds. Big shot after big shot. Momentum flipping. Defensive stands. Missed chances. Second efforts. Multiple moments where the entire gym held its breath.
Jacob showed exactly why he is a Mr. Basketball candidate in the state of Kentucky, pouring in shot after shot with confidence and swagger. But late turnovers proved costly for Boyd County. Maryville stayed poised, made smart decisions, and knocked down free throws when it mattered most to take a hard-fought 66-61 win.
Luke finished with 18 points to lead Maryville. The Bucket Mystro finished with a jaw-dropping 45 points, including 10 made three pointers unofficially. The gym had no choice but to acknowledge the swagger, shooting, and show he put on from start to finish.
This was one of those games no true basketball fan ever wants to see end. One where you hate that someone has to lose. Both teams left everything on the floor and gave everyone in attendance a night to remember.
