I’m in London to celebrate a designer friend’s birthday.
The instructions, info flow, locations, activities, even hotel recommendations are perfectly crafted.
Oh, right, they’ve worked on wayfinding for decades ☺️
Wishing all trips could be this well thought-out!
@MarinaPurkiss Looks like it’s Sunak’s round at the pub; all the sensible people with jobs to go to in the morning have gone home, only the regulars who’ve taken leave of their faculties are left to stick around til closing time. Some will call their own cabs, others slump off their barstools
“What keeps us going, ultimately, is our love for each other, and our refusal to bow our heads, to accept the verdict, however all-powerful it seems” (RIP, legend) https://t.co/K7QdgBLHgM
I know a week is a long time in politics but surely noone has yet forgotten that last week the Uk Home Sec struck herself off on grounds of breaching security protocols…but somehow is now magically back at her desk. So, a trumped up sitch from she who stitched up Truss?
@Peston On the left is the Escher Tower of Babel: going nowhere into infinity and no one could understand what the person at the lectern was on about. On the right, a stockpile of winter fuel
@NoContextBrits Chip butty, why is this even a question? Or is it one of those things that’s been recast to a Venturi level of semiotic abstraction by a branding agency or mistaken for something posher by a passing MP with insufficient downward social mobility to call it what it is?
@genmon Now you’re talking! There are already some AR wayfinding prototypes for driving that are exactly that. No more post its on the windshield/google maps in yer lap etc. Navigating other complex bldgs (hospitals) wld also do well with this stuff too, that’s my jam
