Saturday night's 250th Anniversary Celebration on the River is still on my mind. I was truly inspired by the incredible turnout, the patriotic performance by the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, and the overwhelming spirit of national pride that filled the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater.
This event is special to me every year, but this one left an impact on an entirely new level. America's enduring promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness isn't something we inherit just to admire; it's something we inherit to advance for the next generation. And here in Tuscaloosa, we're working every day to build a stronger nation and a brighter future.
I see that commitment in our community daily, and I felt it undeniably on Saturday night. Thank you, Tuscaloosa.

Today, the City of Tuscaloosa is closed in observance of Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the ongoing pursuit of freedom and equality for all.
We are proud that in 2022, Tuscaloosa became the first city in Alabama to observe Juneteenth as a holiday for our employees. Each year, we reflect on this pivotal moment in our nation’s history, and encourage everyone to take time to learn, remember, and honor the significance of this day.
Thanks to @PeterMohler’s vision and leadership, our partnerships across @tuscaloosacity will only grow stronger. Even more exciting, the economic horizon will shine brighter as @UofAlabama transforms into a future-ready flagship.

We will see you next Friday at the Plaza! 🤘🎶
