For a NEW nation to strive, the tribe must die!!! And must only exist for cultural values, not for purposes of decisions making.
It doesn't matter if the CAT is black or white as long as it catches the mice.
In Nigeria we want to know the color of the mice.
Back at Konga, I made my first terrible hire… and the guy turned out to be a full-blown criminal. 😂😂😂
From the moment he joined, there was always one serious medical issue or another almost every week. We became suspicious when he submitted a medical report that had neither a hospital stamp nor a doctor’s signature. We flagged it, and within minutes he sent another version, with just the signature. We questioned it again, and almost immediately, another version arrived with both the stamp and signature.
Something told me to search online for similar medical report templates, and sure enough, they were easy to download and edit. That explained how he kept “correcting” them so quickly.
That discovery made us dig deeper into his records, and after a thorough investigation, we found that his certificates weren’t genuine either. Pretty much everything about him was fake. Once he realized we’d uncovered the truth, he disappeared and never came back to work.
For the rest of my time at Konga, my boss never let me forget that I had “hired a criminal.” 😂 But honestly, that experience also showed me how difficult background verification was at the time.
Don’t even get me started on dispatch riders who would submit an NIN with an address that turned out to be an empty plot of land, a bank, or another company’s office. 😭😂
I have stories for days!
