@azovtolik@NOELreports You can do more damage by getting the Europeans to stop buying their oil and gas through Russia and intermediaries. 17% of their gas comes from Russia directly, still. Not to mention all the "Indian" and "Turkish" sourcing. Europe is a land of hypocrisy.
@YmaOHyd_@WarMonitor3 Militarily, both were handled quite effortlessly. Being able to stop terrorist attacks on civilians, roadside bombs, and drones from hitting third party nations... Different story.
@ConciousLabRat You're hyper focusing on one (ongoing) unresolved conflict and ignored the other settled ones. Such as, Russia lost the black sea, and America gained Venezuela (from Russia). The strategic situation is better for the USA, than Russia or China.
@daniraestar@MarkCarney_Ego@MarkJCarney The irony of a JAZZ musician on TWITTER (and iPhone?) talking about the USA not participating in the evolution of a civilization. Betch you willingly bought into ours by all measures. Delusional
@daniraestar@MarkCarney_Ego@MarkJCarney Your leader went to Beijing and declared a new world order at the feet of his communist master.
The world isn't going through the same existential crisis Canadians are going through and the world is not "Canada and the EU". That's the irrelevant world. Hence the butthurt.
@AmericaExpanded Stupid deal for sure, but reactions to it are over blown as well. It's nothing different than what Europe has already done by orders of magnitude.
I really do not think the EU should lecture the US when it comes to buying fossil fuels from Russia and thereby financing the war.
The EU spends 19 times more on Russian energy and fertilizer than the US, so the hysterical reaction to a few tons of Diesel is pure theatre.
Trump: Makes a diesel deal with Putin to bring down prices for Americans.
Europe: “Making deals with dictator Putin is a road to hell! Shameful! Absolutely disgraceful!”
Also Europe: Buys even more Russian gas to keep its own citizens supplied.
Europe, in actual numbers: €7.88 BILLION spent on Russian Arctic LNG in the first nine months of 2026 — 9.5% MORE than the year before.
The biggest buyers? France, the Netherlands, and Portugal.
Apparently, buying energy from Putin is financing a bloody dictatorship — unless you pay in euros.
Same dictator. Same gas money. Different moral standards.
Welcome to Europe, where hypocrisy is renewable, but the gas is Russian.
FT: "China’s growing debt pile is constraining the government’s fiscal capacity for sweeping new stimulus to revive flagging domestic demand and strengthen economic growth, studies of state finances show."
Although you probably wouldn't know this from reading the Chinese or foreign press, China probably has the worst debt dynamics of any major economy today. Its debt-to-GDP ratio is the second highest (after Japan) and is the fastest growing in history.

@LowKickLuke@NathanielW72701@elonmusk I like the idea of it, and being able to mine locally with this technology makes staying on the moon easier, but I can't think of any economic benefit of space other than energy and the general underlying science we get as we build (ignoring satellites... talking further out).
@VioletDante@T542Twoshoes@sarobertson_ Not at all, because it doesn't say that. It says "establishing a framework to allow young people to more easily live and work across jurisdictions, if you strip out the fluff. This is the entire goal and the only thing Canada needs an agreement for. The rest can be done today.
@VioletDante@T542Twoshoes@sarobertson_ Yes and it includes immigrant sharing. None of the other stuff requires an association agreement. "We'll sell more minerals", "we'll cooperate more here", "we'll share more in AI development". Why not just do that without the agreement that includes population sharing?
@LowKickLuke@NathanielW72701@elonmusk Kind of a fantasy idea even with robots when you consider what's able to be mined near us, and how ridiculous the transport costs would be for the limited amount you can bring back. Anything rare enough to be mined will plummet in value as soon as you make it work.
