I haven't been on this platform for over a year. If you see this person, report them. If they contact you, ignore them. Thanks
And for @toneglow I shared my favorite non-field recording albums, both new and archival. Check it out, and also read the amazing lists and reflections from 31 other Tone Glowers. Easily the most diverse set of recs you'll find: https://t.co/gkXxh6BGgu
A couple of year-end lists to peruse during this lovely week between holidays: It was a blast to select the Best Field Recordings of 2023 over @Bandcamp. It was the first year of this column, which has consistently been one of my favorite things to write https://t.co/Dv1sVU3u8b
Had the pleasure of voting and blurbing for this year's Best Songs feature @pitchfork-- I wrote about Octo Octa's sprawling "Late Night Love," a song that fits an entire night of dancing into 12 minutes https://t.co/hEk8SSAO8D
Hot on the heels of last month's column, we've got November's Best Field Recordings up @Bandcamp. This one is jam-packed, featuring Michael Pisaro-Liu, Sam Dunscombe, Kate Carr, Lawrence English, and much more: https://t.co/5xv1pxxL1s
October's Best Field Recordings column is live, the first time that one artist has two albums in the same installment. I simply couldnt choose between Marja Ahtis two brilliant records, one solo and one with Niko-Matti. Loads of other great stuff here too: https://t.co/3b3PbmNjFz
Wrote about Patrick Shiroishi's new solo album, recorded in the middle of the night in a parking garage. If you're not familiar with his work I recommend listening to 'Hidemi' and then to this; like two sides of a coin https://t.co/RrvbWrecdK
Wrote about Lee Gamble's Models--one of the vanishingly rare instances of AI being put to good use--for my debut at @residentadvisor: https://t.co/kCbqjLg0JA
i dont know what's going to happen next at bandcamp but it's impossible to imagine how half the staff could maintain the sheer quantity and quality of work published at the daily--it's truly an immense and thrilling collective effort and it's gutting to see it so stupidly damaged
joining the chorus of voices praising jj for their remarkable work @bandcamp. i never got to work directly with them, but their mark on the daily is indelible; so many great writers got their start because of their inquisitive and inclusive approach
we are trying to get to 10k before our meeting with songtradr this evening and currently only ~200 away - please take a few seconds to sign 🙏♥️🖤✊ https://t.co/7ZGcsKIYyV
