The PlayStation 5 has sold in 7.8 million units as of March 31, 2021, according to Sony. 3.3 million were shipped in the past quarter.
For reference, the PlayStation 4 had sold in 7.6 million units in the same timeframe.
Demand remains higher than supply for the PS5.
@xMBGx The decision was made in 2019. Since then the game has received fantastic word of mouth. The positivity for the PS5 version especially opened a lot of people's eyes. There's no way we've seen the last of Days Gone.
Impressively it sold more copies on PSN than other major 2019 releases like Mortal Kombat 11 and Borderlands 3. The game has been a great success
Should be a strong IP moving forward for the PlayStation brand
Days Gone was the best selling PS4 exclusive on PSN in 2019 and also made Top 10 best selling digital games of the year
Sony won't do PR on the sales success of this game, but I'll keep pointing it out for them ๐
Happy for Bend and excited to see what they are working on next
@SargunROCKS All I can say is they better have some innovative reason why TLOU is needlessly being remade, and this Sony Bend game must be an outstanding project to prevent a widely loved game, Days Gone, getting a thoroughly deserved sequel.
@SargunROCKS It's genuinely concerning. Means Naughty Dog's potential new IP gets pushed further back as this project takes away time and resources. Also shows Sony playing it too safe and milking (albeit an incredible franchise) too much.
Days Gone 2 not being greenlit is also very bizarre.
Control: Ultimate Edition, Concrete Genie, and Destruction AllStars are your February PlayStation Plus games.
