Congratulatory Note On the Launch of Africa Credit Rating Agency
On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Kenya, and on my own behalf, I convey our warmest congratulations to the African Union on the historic launch of the Africa Credit Rating Agency (AfCRA) in Port Louis, Republic of Mauritius.
As the African Union Champion for Institutional Reform, I regard this achievement as a powerful expression of our shared determination to build an AU that is strong, effective and fit for purpose, and to advance Agenda 2063 through institutions that translate continental ambition into tangible results.
I also commend the African Peer Review Mechanism and its partners for their leadership in bringing this important reform initiative to fruition.
I have consistently championed the reform of the global financial architecture, fair and credible assessment of African risk, and the establishment of AfCRA as an African-led institution capable of reflecting the continent’s true economic realities and potential.
Its launch affirms a wider continental aspiration: Africa must shape its own narrative, strengthen its financial sovereignty and mobilise capital for development on fairer terms. This achievement now calls for collective political ownership.
African leaders must place their full weight behind AfCRA’s success while safeguarding its independence, professionalism and methodological integrity.
In this spirit, Kenya is pleased to welcome AfCRA and to commence discussions on Nairobi serving as a secondary jurisdiction for the agency, as well as on Kenya becoming a sovereign client of this important continental institution.
Through this commitment, Kenya seeks to demonstrate the practical leadership, confidence and solidarity required to transform Africa’s collective aspirations into durable institutions.
At a moment when global markets are being reshaped by geopolitical competition, volatile capital flows, the energy transition and artificial intelligence, Africa must have trusted institutions capable of interpreting these shifts through the prism of its own realities and development priorities.
AfCRA is thus more than a new institution; it is a strategic instrument for strengthening investor confidence, widening Africa’s policy space and ensuring that the continent participates in the emerging global financial order with greater agency, unity and influence.
At today's Agriculture & Food Security Transformation Summit, President @WilliamsRuto said Kenya's annual milk production has increased from approximately 4.5 billion litres to 5.6 billion litres.
He also reported that milk production per cow has risen from about 2.5 kg to more than 5.6 kg per day.
For Kenya's millions of farmers, the important conversation is productivity, reliable markets and putting more income in the farmer's pocket 60+ shillings per liter is possible
Asante Rais!

I have not been paid @KarisKhali I was also against his leadership but I realised he actually means what he says it's just we have been used to status quo but we can't do the same things and expect different results/outcome.
If we are to move this country from developing economy to developed we need vision, strategy, action and political good will- this is the reason @AlikoDangote finally came to invest in Kenya
I don't do because nimelipwa I support him because I have seen what he can do
Kusema na kutenda!
These numbers and facts are too stubborn for one to restist.
The transformation of our great county is slowly unfolding before our eyes🙌
Ukweli wa mambo ni @WilliamsRuto deserves two time by merit. He has earned it 💯%
From one of the 54 countries in Africa, to one of the giant African countries, I bring you the story of a dreamer.
A young village boy from Uasin Gishu County with an international mindset, set on a journey written on his heart—from Kamagut village, to the University of Nairobi, to a Member of Parliament, a Minister, a Deputy President, and now the President himself.
To him, this is just but the moon.
A man on a mission, as he always says, is slowly coming to life before our very eyes.
His personality, leadership skills, passion and talent, his ability as a great orator, and his entrepreneurial mind have immensely changed the story of Kenya.
Kenya is now an international player. We cannot be ignored on the global stage.
You cannot talk about Africa without talking about Kenya. You cannot talk about innovation and fintech technology in Africa without talking about what Kenya is doing in the digital sector.
You cannot talk about countries with great investment opportunities without talking about Kenya- Lamu this Wednesday will host Africa's richest man @AlikoDangote for a ground breaking investment of its kind in the region.
Kenya's financial infrastructure and digital ecosystem is now safe and stable with opportunities for growth.
Still in doubt about Kenya?
Mention one country in Africa with a @UN Secretariat headquarters in the Global South.@antonioguterres
A country that is not only talking about the future, but increasingly positioning itself within the conversations that will shape that future. You cannot talk about diplomacy in Africa without talking about Nairobi.
You cannot talk about fintech and digital financial services without acknowledging Kenya's journey.
You cannot talk about East Africa's commercial and innovation ecosystem without acknowledging the role Kenya continues to play.
Kenya is indeed blessed to have a visionary leader as its President, His Excellency @WilliamsRuto a leader with enough courage to challenge the status quo, with conviction and a plan for transformation.
It is without doubt that Kenya is taking off, charting its way into the emerging economies, and soon it will land among the advanced economies.
But transformation is never built in a single day.
It is built brick by brick.Road by road.Project by project.Idea by idea.
And if you look around Kenya today, you can see a country in motion.
You see construction.
You see infrastructure.
You see roads being developed.
You see housing projects rising.
You see cities changing.
You see technology and modern markets changing the way people work, trade and communicate.
You see young people creating businesses and exploring opportunities that previous generations could only imagine.
The work is far from finished.
There are still enormous challenges.
There is still much to do.But a country does not become transformed overnight.
Every great economy was once a work in progress.
Every modern city was once under construction like.
Every global company was once a small idea.
Every great journey began with a first step. And perhaps Kenya's journey is no different.
We are still building.
We are still learning.
We are still growing.
We are still positioning ourselves.
And we are still writing our story.
From one of Africa's countries to one of Africa's leading economies.
From being a participant in global conversations to helping shape them.
From being a market for global ideas to becoming a source of global ideas.
From consuming technology to creating more of it.
From exporting raw products to adding value.
From surviving to thriving.
That is the Kenya I see;
A Kenya with enormous potential with an ambitious young population.
A Kenya with a strategic geographical position.
A Kenya with a growing digital economy.
A Kenya with Nairobi as a major regional and international hub.
A Kenya with the capacity to become much more than what it is today.
It is happening 🇰🇪🇰🇪 Asante sana Rais @WilliamsRuto
