For too long we’ve needed an end to corruption in this great state of RI. A BOLD progressive vision that includes ALL people. We have a once in a generation opportunity to change this state for the better! Today, I launch my campaign for General Assembly. https://t.co/JXCQg4pkMz
I am so excited to announce my campaign for State Senate D-31 and honored to have the support of progressive champion, @KendraForRI. I have been truly inspired by Kendra’s lifelong fight for climate & social justice. Her powerful voice in the Senate will be greatly missed.
There is no housing justice without safe & dignified shelter for all. @JoeShekarchi claims housing is his top priority but is choosing to leave the crisis of houslessness unresolved. Now, hundreds of people are at risk of freezing to death this winter. THREAD #sleepoutRI
Last night I made the choice to spend the night at #SleepOutRI. For our unhoused community in this state, that choice has been made for them. Their decision was made by @GovDanMcKee and @JoeShekarchi to let people freeze to death this winter, instead of ending homelessness.
Hundreds of people in RI are in danger of freezing to death this winter.
We're sleeping outside the State House until we're sure that our crisis of houselessness is over.
Our government cannot ignore this crisis any longer. We won't allow them to. #SleepOutRI
Ending homelessness is not a political decision, it’s a MORAL decision! @GovDanMcKee smiled and “tuned out” Rhode Islanders calling for people not to freeze to death this winter!
It’s more clear than ever that our politicians—deeply entrenched, conservative democrats—do not care about the crisis we are in. “Let’s get back to f*cking work.”-@jeaninecalkin#SleepOutRI
I know what it’s like to lose everything. After my families house became contaminated with chipping lead paint and toxic black mold, my family and I were given 15 days to leave and find housing with no money to move. This is my story. https://t.co/nDj7xscTRI
Tonight at the RI State House @Cynthia_Mendes_ , @mattbrownRI , and many others like myself are preparing to camp outside until our State's Housing Crisis is addressed. Please share to bring attention and pressure to the executive and legislative branches to act! Time is up!
According to the RI Homeless Management Information System, over the last 30 days 642 individuals have been reported as living outside alone!
In addition, 1,078 individuals on waiting lists for individual and family shelter including 593 adults, and 152 families with children.
It is unacceptable that homelessness and the lack of healthcare for some of our state’s most vulnerable members continues to rise. We need legislators that are willing to enact bold change to address these issues. Let’s do that together!

This weekend served as a reminder that it’s been 247 days since the state got $1.13 billion dollars in ARPA funding, but still has not spent it. Rhode Island cannot wait any longer. It’s time @GovDanMcKee and the General Assembly start spending this money in our communities.
Join us this Saturday at the statehouse to demand:
(1) A special session of the legislature to start spending this money NOW
(2)A plan to spend the full ARPA funds
(3) For the allocation to prioritize the communities most impacted by our numerous crises

Daily Reminder: RI is the only blue state in the country and the only state in New England to not spend any ARPA funding. Our government has been sitting on $1.13 billion dollars of OUR money for 7 months.
No person should experience the horrors of homelessness the way myself and so many other people have had to. I don’t think that ensuring everyone in Rhode Island Green Affordable Housing is scary. Do you? Let’s change that together! https://t.co/JXCQg47JV1
Change seems scary until we realize what the status quo entails. I need your help. Your donation could be the difference between victory & defeat.
Thank you @amymrusso for allowing me to share my message and personal story with the Journal readers.

“Whether you’re a Republican or you’re a Democrat, or you identify as progressive–I would hope that we get behind an initiative to be able to house people, an initiative to be able to pay people a living wage.” #TuttleForRI

Change seems scary until we realize what the status quo entails. It’s time for Rhode Island residents to live in a state where everyone is housed, fed, safe, and not worrying about how they’ll survive to the next paycheck. This is our vision! Visit my website today!
