A number of times I’ve heard “they’re a really good newsreader, they’ve got such a lovely voice” - but they have no sense of tone, pitch, pace, pause, intonation etc. I have to turn off some stations for three mins at the top of the hour because they grate so much.

This week’s episodes like the ‘scam’ week have been mostly self-contained (little link with prev storylines), so giving writers time to develop big lines - or rewrite existing ones, perhaps to inc ramifications of June Spencer’s death.
