Our SROs are bridge-builders and relationship-makers. They're invaluable members of our school community, not just because they keep our schools and students safe, but because of the care and commitment they show while doing it. Thank you to all of our school resource officers!
Our 2nd graders have been learning about the life cycle of chickens. They were anxiously waiting for the chicks to hatch. This week, the chicks finally arrived. So much fun! @NewHanoverCoSch@chawkfan91@MrsRossersClass
Congratulations to our very own Ronan McAlarney. He was one of the winners at the Regional Science Fair held this weekend. He will go on to compete in the State Science Fair. @NewHanoverCoSch@chawkfan91@MrsRossersClass
Mrs. Griffin's poetry night was a huge success. Her 4th graders shared various types of poetry they have written over the last several weeks with friends and family. @chawkfan91@NewHanoverCoSch@MrsRossersClass
Our third grade hall was turned into a shark museum today. Students shared research they had done on various sea creatures with the museum visitors. @kemmie_bayliss@NewHanoverCoSch@MrsRossersClass
Mrs. Bayliss has been part of the Bellamy family for 20 years. She has fostered the love of art in so many. @kemmie_bayliss thank you for your dedication to our kids. Enjoy your retirement. @NewHanoverCoSch@NhcsArts
Thank you for all of your donations to our Nourish NC project. Some of our 4th graders helped put the snacks out today. Our entire staff worked to assemble the snack packs that will be donated to Nourish NC. #KindnessMatters@NourishNc1@chawkfan91@NewHanoverCoSch
We want to take a moment to honor 2 of our staff members. Mrs. Connie Griffin served in the U.S. Army. Mrs. Griffin was stationed at Fort Bragg and was a paratrooper. David Davis served in and retired from the U.S. Marines. Mr. Davis was deployed 4 times. @NewHanoverCoSch
Our third graders loved learning about the Hispanic Culture from some of Ashley High School's ESL students. Thank you to these students for sharing with us! @chawkfan91@NewHanoverCoSch@MrsRossersClass
Today we honor the perseverance and courage of Indigenous peoples, show our gratitude for the contributions they've made to our communities and our world, and show our respect for Tribal sovereignty.
In celebration of Indigenous Peoples Day we are revisiting this wonderful story of an NHCS student who represented the Lumbee Tribe at a White House event a few years ago: https://t.co/Pr1j91bylv
