#IndigenousPeopleDay
For Unitarian Universalists who do not identify as Indigenous, we must take humble action in solidarity toward healing, reparation, and greater equity.
Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay!
30+ towns in Massachusetts are now celebrating IPD instead of Columbus Day!

Thank you to @UUA President Rev. Dr. Sofia Betancourt for addressing the Farming for the Future conference. We need UU's sharing our values in the public square now more than ever. https://t.co/zmPNm2B5Lk #FarmBill#UUTwitter#UUA#UU
#IndigenousPeoplesDay in Boston resonated with solidarity with many struggles, from MA to Palestine, Hawaii, Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, more.
We were in solidarity as well with Black community activists demanding that the name of Faneuil Hall be changed. It's named for a slaver.
We had a great #IndigenousPeoplesDay march with 3 rallies in Boston today.
A primary reason why we fight for this day: To stop the harm to our kids and all kids caused by teaching that genocidal Columbus was heroic and Indigenous people were waiting to be "discovered."
"We want to express our profound love and solidarity with Jacob Johns, shot last week by a maga terrorist at a peaceful demonstration in NM, and to his family, our @The_Red_Nation relatives, and all impacted."

Congratulations to Narges Mohammadi on her Nobel Peace Prize! Not even 13 imprisonments & 5 convictions, totalling a 31 year sentence, could deter her from advocating for human rights, particularly women's rights. The Iranian gov must release her & cease the oppression of HRDs.
Today, @pontifex released Laudato Deum, an update on the 2015 encyclical. It's not so much a breath of fresh air as it is a bucket of ice water, straight to the face of those who are standing in the way of and delaying climate progress. Here are a few highlights:

The father says: "This is what #courage looks like." He's right. But give yourself the gift of hearing the words of his 11-year-old #trans daughter for yourself. (And thanks for your own courage and vigilance, @ErinInTheMorn)
Stop what you are doing and watch Allison, an 11 year old trans girl, testify to her school board.
“I came here not to fight, but to make peace. How? I’m going to tell a story.”
I don't know how you can have dry eyes after watching this.
Sheepherders, a fixture of the West’s remote mountains and deserts, work long hours on the open range, in an industry beset by abuse. An exclusive investigation by @tessacotsirilos for FERN & @highcountrynews goes inside a world that many call extreme. https://t.co/f1D8DGzl46

Remember that the Bible says, “Pay your workers as little as you’re able.”
Oh, did we say the Bible? We meant capitalism.
The Bible says, “Woe to those who rob the poor.”
