I'm not sure what Minister O' Callaghan's intention was before he went for that interview with Tommy Mescal. I think it's fair to say he made it much worse. ๐๐๐ Has he not heard of de-escalation? He came across as condescending & disconnected from those he represents
@gavreilly Vance Jealous of Musk hogging the spotlight unleashed his "say thank you" tantrum...horrid display. Trump kept talking about playing cards, #Zelensky said I didn't come here to play cards. This is about the life & death of Ukrainians not an episode of The Apprentice.
@CiaraRevins@CorksRedFM Delighted for you, congratulations. ๐๐ And thrilled to see another great woman on the airwaves! The more the merrier ๐
@IrishTimes Of all the people that could pay tribute to her life, her kindness or her friendship...Ryan isn't an obvious choice...so someone at the Irish Times made a calculated choice to seek him out, and Ryan made his lopsided tribute more about him than Sinead. Both made poor choices.
#SineadOConnor always made the choice to be authentic & true even when it cost her. She gave strength to the abused, neglected and wounded in our society, because of her courageous words and actions. Her powerful voice will be missed. โค๏ธโค๏ธ
@PippyBing@jonsopel I don't know all the details of #huwedwards interactions with those making complaints but I know the idea of this interview being pursued is nothing related to journalism.
@gavreilly Mm, it does fund public service broadcasting but it also funds all of the scandalous payments we've just become aware of...this is โฌ160 during a cost of living crisis...not the most convincing logic there Leo. Many will decide not to pay...will they face "collective punishment"?

Chaos.
Today is the day when the US celebrates its independence from Britain. But why don't we do the same in Ireland? April 18th 1949 was the day when huge crowds gathered on O'Connell Bridge as a 21 gun salute marked Ireland becoming a republic. This should be a national holiday
Major reform has been needed at #RTE for years. The #Tubridy affair was the loose thread, and there's plenty of unraveling ahead. However there's also a real opportunity to transform #RTE in to something we can be proud of & trust. Transparency is the first priority. #RTEgate
Oireachtas media chair @NiamhSmythTD has been particularly anxious to find out from the @rte suits how many RTร stars Noel Kelly represents. A visit to the @nkmanagement website might save a lot of time, #rte#Tubridy#Goldhawk
