Convicted k!ller openly confessed during interrogation to taking out a predator cell mate then went to bed after.
A mother named Mary and her nine-year-old daughter moved into an apartment next door to Ted Dyer and his girlfriend. Over the course of a year, neighborly trust built up, to the point where Mary regularly relied on the couple to babysit while she worked or ran errands.
That trust shattered late one evening when Mary walked over to pick up her daughter. Guided by a gut instinct, she skipped knocking and walked straight in. Following a cracked bedroom door, she caught Dyer in the corner of the room actively doing the unthinkable with her daughter.
The young girl later revealed to investigators that the abuse had happened repeatedly. Dyer was arrested, convicted, and handed a 25-to-life sentence.
Inside the Michigan Department of Corrections, Dyer was assigned a cell with Stephen Sanderson, a man already serving life without parole for the m*rder of his girlfriend. When inmates inevitably talk about what landed them inside, Dyer reportedly tried to clear his conscience by claiming he was "set up" and trying to justify his actions.
He had no idea who he was talking to.
Sanderson carried severe trauma from childhood s€xual abuse he endured between ages 4 and 12. Listening to Dyer rationalize harming a child ignited an explosive reaction.
Sanderson told him to shut up, but when Dyer kept talking and posturing, Sanderson kn0cked him unconscious, pulled the shoelaces from Dyer’s own shoes, tied them together, and str@ngled him to de@th.
What happened next was purely routine to Sanderson: he laid Dyer on Dyer's bunk, pulled the blanket over him, neatly packed up his personal belongings knowing he’d be sent to solitary confinement, flushed the laces down the toilet, and went to sleep.
In court, Sanderson pleaded guilty to second-degree m*rder without hesitation, stating bluntly on the record that he killed Dyer intentionally because he was a predator. Later transferred to Ionia Maximum Security Facility, he addressed the public via a recorded prison call, claiming he felt zero remorse and arguing that monsters walk freely while the system repeatedly fails victims.
Was justice served, or was the extra vigilante justice the correct path?
CNN handed Jordan Belfort a pen on live TV and asked him to sell it.
The whole room expected the pitch from the movie.
He didn't give it.
"How long have you been in the market for a pen?"
Then: "What type of pens do you typically use?"
Honestly, I expected the pitch too. That scene made "sell me this pen" famous for exactly that reason, everyone wants to watch someone talk their way into a sale.
What he actually did was slower and way less fun to film: figure out if you even need the pen before saying a word about it. If you don't, he's not convincing you. He's finding someone who does.
So which one is the actual skill, selling, or knowing who to sell to?
