Something many survivors experience is the urge to "disappear"-- even when things are going relatively well. Trauma Brain is real good at slipping "things would be better if you didn't exist" into random thoughts & moments.
Remember: that's just Trauma Brain BS. Not reality.

It can be a mind f*ck when we finally realize how much our past has been messing w/ our lives, especially our decisions, our career, & our relationships.
No one's thrilled to learn complex trauma's been low key creeping on them for years. But suddenly some things DO make sense.
Living with trauma, IS a trauma.
Most ANYONE who endures years of vivid, immersive memories that won't fade & overwhelming emotions they can't regulate without extreme measures would be traumatized.
It's not "just" about what happened "back then."
