The beating heart of a legend.
This is the Amiga 500 motherboard in all its glory — the machine that defined a generation of gaming and demoscene creativity.
The holy trinity of custom chips:
- Denise (video)
- Fat Agnus (memory & blitter)
- Paula (sound & peripherals)
... and there was Gary
While Agnus, Denise, and Paula got all the glory for graphics, memory, and sound, Gary quietly did the unglamorous but essential behind-the-scenes work that made the whole system actually function as a computer. Thanks Gary.
Still one of the most elegant computer designs ever made.
Who grew up with an Amiga 500?
Shown here is a proprietary RAREWARE N64 security dongle designed by Rare Ltd.
Used during development of games such as Conker's Bad Fur Day.
These adapters prevented N64 prototype cartridges from booting, unless the Dongle was connected.

Brian May wrote “Who Wants to Live Forever” after seeing the scene where Connor MacLeod watches his wife grow old while he remains unchanged in HIGHLANDER (1986). That heartbreak became one of Queen’s greatest songs.
Wild Fang / Tecmo Knight (1988) by Tecmo mixes side-scrolling action with giant beast-riding battles and outrageous stylish attacks.
I love the neck spin!!
The Interceptor Mega Disk, a third-party peripheral for the Sega Mega Drive, manufactured without a license by Taiwan Sang Ting Co. Ltd. It was used to clone Sega Master System games on to floppy disks.
The Lost Vikings for the SNES is a classic puzzle-platformer originally released by Blizzard (then Silicon & Synapse) and Interplay in 1993. You must switch between 3 vikings to solve puzzles and reach the exit.
It was innovative and well-received, with major gaming outlets routinely placing it on their top lists. Also available for Amiga, Mega Drive, MS-DOS PC, etc.
