@JStein_WaPo Ah the top marginal rate herpity derprity deerrrrrrrrrr.
A more useful grqph which illustrates the point, which isn't "what's the top marginal rate."
@AllenK_81 Yeah you'll find this had little to do with gender and everything to do with politics. In private and public sectors, getting to the top has very very little to do with competency.
@marceelias Weird, were was your commitment to integrity, accuracy, and honest with the Steele Dossier?
There you notably created a "legal firewall" to protect Hillarys campaign from such unscrupulous behavior.
You were willing to bend the rules then, why wouldn't you now?
@unusual_whales Our economy is so hot no recession! Also plz, rates cut them now.
We should be loving this rate environment. Allows passive income.models.for retirement to be better in a variety of vehicles.
Inflation will be lower.
Whats not to love?
@scottsantens Politicians and CBO have been promising ROI on government spending for decades.
Yet, they also need to run massive deficits, while consuming more and more of GDP.
Hmmm ๐ค
@mcuban Your angle is the sellers where prices have collapsed. Will love this?
Because... suddenly, local buyers will have 25k more to push prices back up?
Hmmm
@ChefGruel Let's start with calling what it really was, a major climate spending bill.
They literally keep crying about how Biden doesn't get credit for his massive climate bill.
Probably because they called it the inflation reduction act.
@mattyglesias It's not price control! It's just new regulations and penalties if you change the price past what we deem to be appropriate in situations we deem appropriate! Duh clearly different.
How the fuck do you manage to put pants on each day?
@RBReich Here in the US, we do not have hyper inflation, so they try to obfuscate their impacts of money printing but it's the same thing just to a less obvious degree.
By design of the FED mandate of 2% inflation a static company will always have 2% higher "profit" with the same metric.
@RBReich As always, a clear example of why looking at absolute numbers for profit is silly.
On a Thursday in December of 2008, price of bread in Zimbabwe went from 2M to 35M. Rob would say greedy bakers profits increased 1750%! But we know it was money devaluation.
@mmpadellan Pretty wild she's claiming her 1.1B judgement against a fraudulent college system was her fighting price gouging.
Guess honesty has never been necessary.
@matthewstoller No, she's saying I will implement price controls.
Everyone thinks food should be less, the question for everything is always how.
People are flipping out on her how.
@ArianehSajadi For example, milkshakes aren't communism.
But if you can only get milkshakes from state owned/operated places at a rate determined by state then you live in a communist system.
If you buy it from dairy queen through private mediums of exchange you live in a capitalistic system
@ArianehSajadi I know who needs to hear this, it's you.
Calling something a right doesn't change the myriad of possibilities to provide the logistical and resource costs of said service.
Which can range from free market capitalism to communism.
