We've spent the last few weeks working on compiler optimization passes!
We now have common subexpression elimination, loop-invariant code motion, script deduplication & script inlining!
It took a long time, but with these, we pushed Solid-State Soldier to 60 FPS!

@SNESTesterAlex We will have to check with Shinyuden, I think we've one RPG for later 2026. Regarding homebrew-SNES, I know our compiler programmer has been working with @twoblackcatsx on a new C to SNES compiler to beat the only one now available for homebrew projects
@LilacIllust The physics system is not targeting Sonic-specific games, but the engine has a plugin system, so it is easy to adjust and make extra modules for it :)
We've updated MD Engine beta version on Steam with our latest cthe hanges from the last few weeks/months!
Here is a detailed change log of everything that has been included

Right now, we have a custom PCB with a flat 8MB size. We have plans to work on bigger PCB support with mapper and such after finishing the GBA pcb and doing a new review of the SNES PCB. But so far, we have never needed to go beyond 8MB nor has anyone had a game that big that needs support done with MD Engine.
@29thcenturycapt@saltandpixeldev 100% correct, the only/major difference is that instead of compiling to bytecode and having a virtual machine, the engine has a proper event compiler that generates real C code with several optimization passes
If you're not aware. A new engine for the Mega Drive is on the horizon. Based on GBStudio. So I'm concepting some ideas. I'm hoping to spend some time figuring out the look of 90s SEGA games.
